Chapter 9: Distant

**Isabelle's p.o.v**
I wonder what's going on with Max he seems so distant around me. I thought in awe. I made my way to see Sam playing in the kitchen. I ran towards him and started tickling him. His numerous giggles were so cute I couldn't help but smile. Before i knew it he was out of arms reach. Running and giggling around the house. I chased him for a while before giving up and going back into the kitchen to finish cooking breakfast. "Breakfast is ready!" I yelled as I set the table. Before i knew it the boys where at the table shoving as much food as they could into they're mouth's at one time. "So I decided I'm going to go out with some friends later on. And that means that Max you are in-charge of Sam for today." I said With my voice laced with excitement. "Why are you leaving me now Isabelle?" Sam said with a sad look on his face. "I'll be back to tuck you in." I said reassuringly while I headed upstairs to get ready. I decided to wear a floral romper and nude heals. With my hair waterfall braided along with lose curls at the end.
**1 hour later**
I finally arrived at the restaurant Me and Emily are going to. She said she wanted to talk about something. Her voice seemed shaky and off. What's going on?
**1 hour later**
"Isabelle I'm so sorry! Please forgive me." Emily pleaded. "Dont talk to me. You betrayed our friendship." I said with anger laced in my voice.
"Isabelle dont you think your over reacting?" She said following a few feet behind me. I turned to face her and said "You are dating my f*cking little brother. In my opinion I'm reacting just the right amount. I've already lost a lot of great friends because of my brothers past relationships with him. And honestly i don't want to lose you too. Your my best friend." "You won't lose me. Im here for you whether you like it or not." She said looking me dead in the eyes. "I wouldn't say that just yet. Thats what they all said." I said sternly While spinning around and heading out the restaurant door.
**Max's p.o.v**
Me and sam had begun to eat our lunch when i heard soft knocking at my front door. The door swung open and a tiny figure stepped in to the house. It didn't take long for me to realize it was emily. She was sobbing. "Babe are you okay?!" I said as I ran to her. "Im fine." She said shortening her sobs. I cupped my hands on her cheeks and wiped the tears from her pink cheeks with my thumbs. "Your not fine. Tell me what happened." "I told Isabelle we are dating like you wanted me to. And she freaked out and yelled at me." She said sniffling. Instead of saying anything I lifted her head and kissed her. Her crying stopped and everything seemed at peace. Atleast at the moment.
