Did you just call me your kid?

Tim woke up from a deep sleep, ready to get up and going to get a glass of water to rinse his throat. Just as he was in the kitchen he heard something outside, more like someone. He went to investigate the situation, and he thought he heard Tamara. He now listened more carefully.

Ta- Geez, Karter! Maddie tried to warn me about you, but I didn't listen, you know?
K- I-I'm sorry... I wasn't thinking. That kiss didn't mean anything-
Ta- Please tell me at least a part of it was real?

Karter tried to move in her direction, the look on his face told her enough. 

Ta- Get away from me.

She tried to move away from him in disbelief.

Ta- You know what the thing is?- If you would ask me I'd probably forgive you...
K- Please give me another chance, I swear you're all I want in this world.

Trying to hear what was going on back there was getting hard as she had become so quiet, but as Tim's instincts kicked in, he walked through the front door. He walked up to them being firm.

K- Please?
T- Anyone who hurts my kid doesn't get a 2nd chance, ever. I'll see you later.

As Karter saw Tim he nodded and left the porch in his car. As Tamara stood there shocked, Tim walked up to her.

T- Are you okay, Tam?

Still processing things she asked 'Did you just call me your kid?.  Tim sighed.

T- Oh jeez-
Ta- You've never said that before.
T- Sure I have.
Ta- Nuh-uh...

Looking at her he exhaled, 'Well of course you're my kid, alright?- What do you think?'
He smiled at her and so did she. As the night continued they went inside and went to bed.
