We drove in Ashton's care for a while, to the mystery destination he had picked out. He refused to tell me where it was because he said it was supposed to be a surprise. Knowing Ashton, okay I don't really know him THAT well, he would probably have something cute and adventurous picked out for our date.

"Can you give me a little hint?" I asked, pleading. Ashton just laughed and watched the road. We were on a winding highway that continued to get farther and farther from the city, the trees around us getting thicker and taller, my nervousness growing as well.

"So Ashton, what got you into surfing?" I asked, trying to start some sort of conversation. I didn't want the car ride to get awkward and honestly with the radio getting static-y as we continued to drive deeper into the trees, I needed something to calm me down and distract me from the knots in my stomach. Talking normally helped me, since I was quite the chatter box.

"Well, I have a story to answer this so listen close," Ashton started, grinning at me.

"So one summer, back when I was going into the tenth grade, I was basically a couch potato and I did nothing but lay in my bed and watch tv. I know, it's the complete opposite of who I am now. But my mom kept bitching cause' I always slept in. (xD) And she didn't want me to waste my summer. So she kicked me out of the house one day and made me go do something. I ended up at the beach, mostly because I was a 15 year old teenaged boy,  you know what I mean..." Ashton paused, giggling while his cheeks flushed pink. I laughed, he was so cute.

"When I was at the beach, I saw these older guys surfing, and they saw me watching. One of them came up to me and offered to teach me how to surf. I was awful at first, but it's been a passion of mine ever since. And that's the end of my story. Oh look, here we are!"
