There were so many people of all different, most of them were popular people. Jocks, cheerleaders, and of course the rich kids.
How Asher ended up hanging with these types of people is beyond my comprehension. Laura on the other hand was always trying to be someone she wasn't when it came to Garrett though.
"Laura!."
Garrett in all his glory, shirtless and in jean shorts that met above his knees. He scooped up Laura into his arms hugging her, and Laura? She was eating it up, her giggle as her feet leave the ground with Garrett hugging her.
Then his eyes landed on me, those green eyes and blonde hair. Why he had a problem with me? I wish I could tell you, but that look he had almost looked like irritation and smugness.
"I'm glad you both could come." He put emphasis on both. Laura looks at me then back at Garrett as she was about to answer. "She came because I invited her."
Behind Garrett walked up Asher and all the air left my lungs.
His blonde hair in the sun along with an a blue button up shirt on that's opened showing his body with black swim shorts on and a cross necklace that sat beautifully on his chest.
Asher's blue eyes were on me with a little bit of a knowing smirk and my eyes never left him, how can he get better?.
"Doing charity work now, Ash?." Garrett chuckles making Laura jab him in the ribs with her elbow.
"The only charity work I do is being friends with you, Garrett." Asher shot back. My hand went over my mouth trying not to laugh.
Garrett's smirk faded when Asher said that. "I'm gonna steal her from you Laura." Asher says to my friend, his hand grabs my gloved hand leading me away.
I don't know if I'm still gobsmacked by Asher or the way he stood up for me again. I look at Laura while Asher was pulling me away.
"Oh my God!." Laura mouthed to me and fake fanning herself like Asher was hot.
I roll my eyes looking back at Asher, he was leading us through the party. The music got louder as we were heading through the source of it.
There were people drinking or dancing, other side of me was football players playing a game of catch. My face turns back to Asher's back as he was in front of me holding onto my hand still.
He picks up blanket off the hood of a van that was playing the music for the party and out the other side of the party, it was quieter the more we kept going.
"You're not gonna kill me are you?." I tease jokingly. Asher turns his head to look at me with a laugh. "Totally, I even planned it, nobody will hear you." He jokes back.
I laugh, we walk through the trees as it leads to this over view of the party and the lake, it looked beautiful. Asher put the blanket down on the ground letting go of my hand.
"This is beautiful." I looked around of the water and trees. Asher sat on the blanket looking at me. "Yeah it is." I look at him and he wasn't talking about the view.
I blush waving him off. "Sit." He pats the spot next to him. I sit down with him. "So what do you have in mind for this first date?." I ask.
Asher chuckles. "I wouldn't say this is a first date." My brows furrowed together. "Parties aren't first date material, especially when my friends and yours are below us where we're at." Asher lays down looking up at the sky.
