The Unstable Duo (Chapter 8)

Haelix was fixing the Papers of the last documents from recent Squads and Placed them inside of a folder, gently storing them inside of the white Drawer with a smooth and Soft Material, And Gently locking it with a key, His Black Gloves Squeaking Slightly, before placing the Key on his Desk.

"Well... that's all For today" Haelix Stood up from his Seat and stretched his arms, Before turning to the window behind him which revealed he was 25 Floors away from the ground, and Staring at the View.

The City at night was bright with many lights, Bustling with Car hums and people chattering, only that every sound was muffled by the window that it wasn't loud enough for Haelix to hear, which was fine to him since he can use this as a Peace instrument.

The door suddenly creaks open, Followed by Arneya Walking towards Haelix's Desk, Her Heels clicking against the floor. She stopped before him, her tone being formal and laced with curiosity.

"You needed me, Boss?" Arneya questioned, her hands gently intertwined together, waiting for His Reply.

"Take a Seat, I just want to have a friendly Convo with you, So drop the formal attitude." Haelix requested, fixing his Collar.

That made Arneya Lift one of her brows before speaking again.

"But what fo-" Arneya trying to finish her sentence but Haelix Stops her.

"Just take a seat, and Call me Haelix for the Meantime." He gestured, Being all polite and respectful.

It took Arneya a second before she complied and sat on the Office chair that was placed in front of Haelix's Desk.

Haelix soon softly turned to Arneya, his Calm smirk Plastered to his face.

"So, Arneya." He started as he sat on his Chair, "How is your life with your Daughter?" He Added, tilting His Head.

Arneya's Eyes slightly widened. Taking aback from his Question before slowly gaining her Composure.

"I...she's Okay, Haelix, but why are you asking it all of a sudden...?" Arneya questioned, Her body showing little signs of tense nerves.

"Nothing Arneya, it's just that I've been curious about what's happening in your life lately, what struggles you've been going thru, and Generally just Life updates." Haelix explained, his tone laced with a bit Of "Reassurance" and "Warmth". He's not always like this so this Got Arneya off guard.

"Well...she's currently 10 now, and she wants to be a Doctor. Rent money is still being managed, and My blood pressure is getting Higher...due to my kidney issues..." Arneya Revealed, her tone Soft and Personal.

Haelix nodded to every information, his Gloves Squeaking from getting tapped but barely audible. It takes a few moments of silence before he replies again.

"You know, about the Rent money, I might just help you with that." Haelix then grabbed something from under his coat, before taking out his wallet, inside was stacked with Money, and he pulled out $3,000 softly, before handing it to Arneya.

Arneya's Eyes Went fast open before the cash, Her jaw slightly dropping and letting out a quiet Gasp. She tried to refuse her boss.

"H-haelix?! N-no, it's too much, I-i can't take i-" then Haelix cut her off.

"Relax, sweetheart, Take it, take it all, after all, you deserve it, Right?" Haelix said, his tone laced with Mischief and a Bit seductive.

Arneya Slightly blushed from the nickname her boss gave her before slowly looking away. Haelix noticed it and gently grabbed her chin before forcefully turning her face to turn to him.
