"What are you doing here?" Rosie asked.
"I've got some news for you, so come and sit down so we can discuss it." He replied.
She nervously walked and sat on the seat, facing Officer Lunge.
"So, how has your time here been so far?" He inquired.
"Uhm...It's been alright." She replied dryly.
"That's good to hear. Anyways, I came here to let you know that we've found a place for you temporarily to stay in until you come of age to become an adult."
Her heart began to beat fast, "R-Really? And where might this place be?"
"Madeline's home for girls. It's an orphanage for girls. Majority of the girls there are your age. You'll be leaving the hospital tomorrow, once they've checked that you're feeling better. Is that alright?"
She nodded, "Yes...That's...Fine..."
He looked at her sceptically, "Are you sure? You look rather...Nervous."
"Do I? I-I guess I'm just shocked...That's all."
"Don't worry Rosie. It will only be for 2 years and then you'll be free to live how you wish."
"I know..."
"Anyways, I'll get going now. Until next time, Ms Adelstein."
She remained in her seat as she watched the officer leave. A few minutes after he was gone, a familiar chestnut haired girl came walking in.
"Rina!" Rosie called, immediately standing up.
"Heyy! How has it been?"
"Come sit down! I have some even more news to tell you..." she whispered.
The two sat down in front of each other.
"So, how has the lunatic asylum been?" Rina asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Don't say that! It's an offensive term, you know!"
"Oh shoot, really? We're always calling it that in history. But sure."
"Anyways, let's cut the idle chit chat and let me get straight to the point; I'm being sent to an orphanage." She announced.
Her green eyes widened as her jaw dropped, "What!? Is it a local orphanage!? Which one is it!?"
"He didn't really tell me whether it was local or not, but the name of the orphanage is, 'Madeline's home for girls', it's quite a strange name if you ask me."
Rina instantly covered her mouth as she gasped, "What!? That's the orphanage I'm staying in right now!"
Rosie reciprocated her shocked reaction, "What!? You're an orphan! What!?"
"Oh, I didn't tell you? Well now you know. But anyways what!!? I'm actually kind of excited! I've just been a loner in that ugly ass orphanage! Now I finally have someone joining me!"
"Should I be concerned that you don't like it?"
"Yes, you should. The whole point of that orphanage is to just eat, shit and sleep in. That's literally it. After you're 13, they don't give a damn about you anymore."
"Oh..."
"But don't worry, because they don't give a damn about us, we can do whatever we want. Use that information as you will- But anyways, when are you coming then?" She asked.
"Tomorrow." Rosie replied.
"What!? Yay! You'd better get packing then! Come on, where's your room?" Rina exclaimed as she was about to stand up, but was stopped by Rosie.
