Alex stared deep into her neon pink eyes, his eyes remained wide open. Rosie stared back at him, her heart was racing.
"Rosie...You're awake..." he finally said, a small smile of relief forming in his face as he touched her shoulders. His breath became shaky and Rosie noticed his eyes tearing up, "W-Why...Would you do it..."
She started to feel really guilty and grief stricken as she looked at him.
But she had to remember the whole reason she did it...
"Because of you."
She'd expected Alex to act shocked about it, but he only cried harder as he wrapped his arms around her and laid his head on her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry...For everything I did...I'm really sorry...I'll never do it again."
Even Rosie began to tear up. She wanted to hug him back and tell him it wasn't his fault, she wanted to talk to him again, she wanted to sing to him again. But the harsh reality was that it was because of him, that Leonie did what she did. Had she never found or been with Alex in the first place, perhaps things would've gone differently.
She pushed him away from her, to which he looked at her in shock this time.
"R-Rosie...?"
She lowered her head as she looked at her feet.
"I think I need some space from you. I-I think we're better off just...Not seeing each other at all..."
She didn't know what else to say in the nicest way possible so she walked back inside the house, closing the door and leaving Alex standing there, heartbroken and bewildered.
"W-what...!?"
A few raindrops began to fall onto the floor, and slowly more and more fell until it was pouring. Alex remained standing there, his eyes were wide open and he had difficulty processing what had just happened. He had waited for her for a long time, visited her every day and even stayed with her...And this is what she does?
He suddenly fell on the ground as his head lowered. His lips began to quiver as his eyes began to tear up, but it made little impact as the rain was already falling on his face.
Rosie peeked out of the window and noticed that he was still there. This made her feel an extreme sense of guilt and sadness; the fact that he was upset all because of her.
She let out a sigh, "I guess it's better to just ask him what that post meant rather than being a baby about it...But I doubt it'll make things any better...Unless of course, someone else impersonating him posted it or something." She thought.
And so, she walked back to the door and opened it. She was about to kneel down and face Alex, however, he looked up at her and quickly stood up as he held gently onto her waist whilst looking into her eyes. "Don't put too much pressure onto yourself...Don't forget that you still have a wound that's supposed to be healing." He explained.
Rosie blushed as took his hands away from her. "I think there's a lot of questions we have for each other...But I want you to answer mine first." She said bitterly.
He held her face as he smiled warmly at her, "Of course."
Rosie stared at his hand, then at him. "I don't get it, Alex...Why do you...Why do you even like me in that way? There's so many girls out there...And for some reason, you like me?"
He sighed, as he looked at her, "May I ask...How do you feel about me?"
"I said I was asking the questions first-"
