"Yeah- it's- uh it's nice to meet you too."

Of course he works here. Only AJ could be so unlucky that the one person she wants to avoid most is not only in the same city as her but also the same job and station. She was doomed.

Well at least she had Eddie with her. Eddie had been in her classes in the academy and had gotten along like a house on fire (ironic). They had bonded over both being ex military, though they hadn't gone into much detail over either of their time in the services, both having pasts that they would like to keep to them selves.

AJ knew of Eddie's son Christopher, but she had never met him, though now that they work together she hopes that one day she could.

The conversation had thankfully steered away from her and Eddie, but she could still see that Evan was looking at her, he had barely looked away - had barely even spoken. And though they may have not seen each other in years, AJ knew that Evan Buckley was almost incapable of not talking. She was concerned, she knew that seeing her was due to being up painful memories of a hot desert covered in blood, the screams of their teammates and... this is not the time to be thinking about this.

The chatter from the rest of the team ceased momentarily and Eddie nudged her gently, "AJ, Chim asked you a question.." the words were whispered quietly to her.

She shook herself mentally for already messing up and looked at Chim, "I'm sorry I guess I wasn't fully paying attention..." the words were followed by an awkward chuckle as Chim and Hen both quietly laughed.

Chim just smiled and repeated his question, "Cap told us you've been job hopping for a bit, I was wanted to know what's been your favourite so far?" It was an innocent enough question, but all it did was bring those memories back the ones of the desert, the ones of the hospital, the ones of...

"Yeah I've mostly been travelling for a couple years, picked up a couple jobs in the countries I stayed longest."

"That sounds nice. I've always wanted to travel a lot, but the jobs keeps asking and I keep answering." Hen laughed.

"Haha, yeah don't we know." The rest of the station laughed at Chimneys joking jab at Hen.

"Wait, hey Buck, didn't you spend some time travelling?" Hen asked Buck, who was still stood still and hadn't spoken since introducing himself.

"Uh, yeah I did." His response was awkward and caused the rest of the A-team to look at him weirdly.

"Well then you and the new probie can have something in common! Maybe you've been to that same places."

"I doubt it." AJ spoke under her breath but everyone still heard it, "I mean I was all over the place, different countries, this is the first time I've been back in America in years." She tried to reason, didn't want to seem rude when really she had meant that she was actively avoiding Evan all those years and has purposely left if she knew he was anywhere near.

"I-I mean she is right. I did some travelling but I mostly stayed here, just different states, not countries." He scratched his neck as he finished talking, he really didn't want to have to explain his past with Aurelia if someone were to figure it out - especially because she obviously didn't want to talk about it.

"O-kay.." Hen looked at the new probie and at Buck with her eyes squinted, she could tell that there was obviously more to the story... maybe they knew each other.. no that can't be it, maybe she was a victim of Buck 1.0 and just doesn't want to deal with that. Yeah that's probably it.
