It had been about two months since that first fateful evening. Cheol and Jeonghan had started talking regularly, especially outside of work. They had grown closer and now spent time together at least a few days every week after hours, and often on weekends. Today was just another average Saturday, and Jeonghan was on his way to Seungcheol's house. By now, they had stopped asking for permission to visit each other—they just showed up unannounced from time to time. Things were moving quickly, sure, but they were extremely comfortable with each other.

While Seungcheol's feelings had been obvious for a while—he hadn't outright said it, but he certainly wasn't hiding it—Jeonghan still wasn't sure what he felt. He knew one thing for certain: he didn't hate him anymore.

As he pulled up in the driveway of the unnecessarily large house, he noticed a red car parked outside. That could only mean one thing—Sohyun, Cheol's older sister, was visiting. And that meant her seven-year-old twins, Jiwon and Nari, were here too.

Jeonghan hadn't known them for long, but he had already fallen in love with the two energetic kids. A big grin spread across his face as he quickly got out of the car and walked into the mansion.

"Jiwon!? Nari!?" he called out as he stepped inside, kicking off his shoes.

He heard scrambling from deeper inside the house, followed by murmured voices and then the sound of tiny footsteps rushing toward him.

Seconds later, two almost identical children came flying around the corner, tackling Jeonghan to the floor while giggling like maniacs.

"Hey, you little brats!" a stern female voice scolded. "Go tackle your father instead of poor Jeonghan!"

"Hey, why me?!" a voice, laced with betrayal, called out from inside the house.

The children laughed at each other before running off again, disappearing into the house. A loud crash followed, along with a yelp that Jeonghan assumed belonged to Mingyu—not just some random guy.

"Ignore them, Hannie," Sohyun said, offering him a hand. "I can't control them for the life of me."

He accepted her help, and they chatted as they walked into the living room, where toys—most likely bought by Seungcheol—were scattered across the floor. The man loved to spoil his niece and nephew. Also sprawled on the floor was their father, Mingyu, currently being attacked by the twins.

Jeonghan stepped past them and sat down on the couch.

"Where's Cheol?" he asked, glancing around.

"I'm out here," came a voice from the kitchen before anyone else could respond.

Moments later, Seungcheol walked in, carrying a tray of cookies and a pitcher of juice, glasses balanced neatly beside it.

"Oh, here, let me help," Jeonghan said, standing up and walking over to him. He grabbed the pitcher from the tray and carried it over to the small table beside the sofa.

Cheol followed soon after, handing each child a cookie and pouring them a glass of juice. They all chatted for a while until Mingyu took the kids outside to play in the garden.

"I heard Dad's coming back tomorrow?" Sohyun said, her expression turning more serious as she looked at her younger brother. "We'll probably be at Mingyu's parents' house then... I'm sorry."

"You don't have to apologize," he replied with a warm yet slightly saddened smile. Jeonghan didn't know why, but he hated seeing him like this.

"I wouldn't want the kids around him anyway," Cheol added.

Sohyun had been lucky compared to her brother—she managed to escape their father's control when she moved to Australia with her family. Their father, the CEO of the company, had been away on an almost month-long business trip, but he was returning tomorrow.
