Dylan O'Brien's little sister

Chapter 5

Sherlyn's POV

We've been for about 2 hours in the car and I am about to fall asleep when Dylan pokes my leg.

"Sherlyn, here you are" He says giving me my phone.

"Dylan, I'm supposed to be grounded. I got in trouble with school remember?" I say looking at him confused.

"Let me correct you" He says with a smirk. "Allison and dad grounded you. But come on I'm the coolest brother ever! I'm not going to keep you grounded" I smile at him and go on my phone.

"Thanks a lot, Dylan" I say and he noods focusing the road. I open my phone and start texting with my friends. 

Sherlyn: Hey guys! Got my phone back? How are you? - Instantly I get a text from Kienna.

Kienna: Hello Sher! Missing you already! My mum and I are going shopping in the afternoon.

Sherlyn: Girl, you gotta show me what you get!

Thomas: And the girly talk has started.

S: Hey Thomas! How are you?

T: I was just skateboarding for a while. You know, learning new tricks :-)

K: Remember not to break your neck!

T: Don't worry. Everything is under control, girls.

S: Yeah, of course it is. Well, what are you doing this summer without me? :(

K: Come on, Sher, you know that it won't be the same without you. But be sure that going to New York it's on my plans!

T: Same here!

S: Thanks a lot guys. You're amazing. Well I've to go now, I'm feeling kinda dizzy in the car. I'll text you when I arrive!

K & T: See you! Have a good trip!

And with that I close my phone and rest my head on the window falling in a deep sleep.

After around 1 more hour I sense that Dylan stops the car in a gas station and I sleepily open my eyes.

"Hey Sher, I'm going to put more gas to the car. Lets go outside to stretch our legs" He says and I hop out of the car. 

"Can we get something to eat?" I ask.

"Sure, lets go" He says and we go into the shop. "What do you want?"

"I'll be good with a sandwich" I say taking a ham and cheese sandwich from one of the shelters. He picks another one as well and pays for them.

"Alright, Sher. Lets eat this before we get in the car again" He says and we sit in a shadow. "So, how was your school this year?"

"It was good. I had good grades the whole year. Not as good as Kienna, but I didnt get any lower than a 6"

"Good job, girl!" He says punching me playfully. "Mum and Dad must be proud of your marks"

"They're. But getting in trouble offsets their happiness" I say smirking and he chuckles.

"What was the worst thing you did this school year?" He says smiling.

"I guess it was when one of my classmates, Giselle, picked on me once and I threw a bucket of worms and dirt on her"

"Oh my god." He says laughing. "What happened after?"

"Mum ground me and told me to write an apologise letter. I stayed grounded but I've never wrote that letter. But don't tell her! She doesn't know" I say nervous making him laugh more.

"Your secret is saved with me." He says and I smile proudly. "Alright we should be going now. Lets get in the car" And with that we hop in again. He starts the engine and I put my headphones on. It's been only around 3 hours and I'm sick of being in the car.

Man, this is going to be a looong trip.
