The Trophy of a Heart

I loved you, once, with a heart so true,
But now, my love, I find it hard to view.
You wore my affection as if a prize,
Parading it, as you stole my goodbyes.

You called it a game, a laugh, a jest,
Told the world I loved you, while I was your guest.
A trophy to display, then swiftly discard,
Leaving my heart broken, bruised, and scarred.

You danced around me, your tricks well played,
Pretending it was coincidence, each time you stayed.
I, a fool, with a heart so naive,
Fell into your trap, unable to leave.

You mocked me, laughed at my devotion,
Used my love as your twisted emotion.
And when I needed your care, your respect,
You blocked me, left me alone, a wreck.

Now I cannot face you, nor bear your gaze,
For the illusions you built in your cruel maze.
My reputation in ruins, shattered by you,
I was nothing but a fool, for you to subdue.

I cannot like you, no, not anymore,
I despise the man who left me so sore.
You played with my heart, turned it into a toy,
And now, all that's left is a broken joy.

I long for an apology, for some word of grace,
But I know the truth, you won't show your face.
You left me in silence, to suffer and cry,
Now all that's left is a whispered goodbye.

So may you live on, with your trophies to keep,
While I rebuild what you shattered so deep.
I wish you happiness, though I shall not mend,
For in the end, I am my own best friend.
