Focused.
Being focused is everything.
Breathe.
Breathing for survival is important.
Still, be still and -
Raging red eyes snaps open and Jimin blocks the fist that aimed to his face. With his fiery hand, he plummets a punch to the assaulter's chest, forcing him back. An arm swings in the air, to which forced Jimin to duck down and shoot a block of the ground to smash the other fighter against a tree.
Jimin closes his eyes and breathes in the air, moving his arms fluidly and bends his knee while the other remains outstretched, waiting to receive the hits with his multicolor eyes snapped open.
Five opponents, one man.
Looking around slowly, Jimin prepares himself just before one of the opponents charges to him. Immediately Jimin defends himself by blocking his hits aggressively before his opponent attempted to land a kick on his face, but a shield of ice blocked his hit and Jimin began to attack back. His moves were fluid yet strong as he kept up to his opponent, right before rising up into the air and kicks him down to the floor.
The chief watches with perplexed eyes the training session, leaning towards Taemin, "He's holding back, why?"
"I don't know sir," Taemin whispers back, keeping himself up right with hands to his back, "He probably doesn't want to hurt them?"
This made the chief narrow his eyes, "If he's going to be leading us, he needs a thicker skin."
"Understood sir."
The chief then steps forward, whistling their attention. He looks motionlessly to the opponents and then back to Jimin, "Attack to the death."
Jimin's eyes widen, panting to catch his breath as he looks around him and then to Taemin - who only nods to him back before saying, "Don't hold back."
"But," Jimin pauses, looking at the chief, "I can't. They're my pack too. I could -"
"There's no pack in this life kid," The chief huffs back, "We're at the brink of war and we need you to not get distracted. Do you want us to disappear again?"
The weight falls heavy on Jimin's shoulders, remembering the fall of his previous people, "No."
"Then start doing your duty in protecting your people."
Jimin hesitated, but he was not given time to ponder over that thought because suddenly one of the opponents began attacking him. As to how their training was before, this time they were not holding back. Their hits are stronger, and they are giving everything they got into making Jimin weak.
Jimin protects his skin well, but his tender heart grabbed his opponent's wrist and twists it, "Wait, you don't have to-"
An elbow to the mouth shuts him up before his opponent did a 540 kick to his face, sending Jimin all the way to the ground. His body thudded as he landed, hearing his own heartbeat pounding loudly against his ears. All the breath got knocked out of his lungs, and now his world began to swirl.
Taehyung and Jeongguk began to fog into his memory, especially as they got into that chopper and left. An oath of sticking together now shattered to pieces. An oath of never leaving one behind began to crumble. A pack to remain a family burned to ashes.
They could've stayed with him.
They could've stayed here as Jimin figures his life with the people.
But, Jimin knew they shouldn't be here, especially with their entire species being what Jimin's people despised.
