Chapter 25: Unfair Contract
Darkness...it means someone put me to sleep...
Pain...it means I'm alive.
"Kyu. (Hi Luciel.)"
Oh...hi Pandora.
Say, are they going to put me back to sleep, or can I restart my organs without getting interrupted?
"Mimi. (Yes you can.)
...can you share your vision with me then?
"Mi. (Yes)"
Colour immediately invaded my vision and I could see that I was currently inside a hospital room, but it looked vastly different to the one I had previously administered on, as I could easily detect that the equipment here was much more sophisticated. And that wasn't even talking about the multiple medical plants around the room.
To my side I could see some weird tripod with a bag of blood hanging from it. I even noticed that a tube relied on the bag to my arm...which probably explained why I felt more blood inside my body than usual.
But then my focus was drawn to Nurse Joy sitting on a chair with a wet towel on her face. Her usual white apron was covered by small stains of blood, but the worst was her hand which was completely drenched in crimson. Despite having signs that she tried to wash aways the liquid, the stain still stayed on her hand.
...is she sleeping?
I wonder what made her so tired.
After finishing inspecting the scene, I finally started to look at myself, I could see that I was installed into a completely white bed with the sheet covering my entire body.
After asking Pandora to raise my cover, I realized I was naked, but I didn't bother with that, all that concerned me was the new scar placed right on my stomach. It was a deep red circle right below my lung.
Contrary to my other scars that were mostly unnoticed by my pale skin, this one left a deep impact on my body, creating a clear contrast with the rest of my skin.
Well, it can't make me uglier than I already am, but I'm more happy that it already healed to that point when I was asleep, it would be less painful to do the treatment.
I then looked at my arm and noticed they were bandaged by the same green bandana that now on closer inspection, could see a lot of similarities with one of the plants in the room.
Is that why I'm healing quicker?
I inspected more closely the plant used on me before coming to a realization.
It's a Revival Herb?! But the book said they were extremely hard to find, and even more impossible to cultivate naturally. Of course its effects were worth its rarity, as it was an extremely powerful healing plant that could cure most wounds from either human or pokemon.
But that is only its basic effect, its real effect comes from ingesting it, as it can easily heal any sickness, injury or tiredness in the body. Apparently it was so good that if an old man were to eat it, he could act as if he was in his youth.
But there was a side effect to it of course, on the body it caused an enormous rash on the skin that took years to go away, and apparently the taste was absolutely disgusting that some would rather die than take a single bite out of it...wait...
I decided to activate my sense of taste just to confirm my suspicion and...
... hrmph!
I didn't waste a second and removed my sense of taste and even went up in my memory to try to suppress the knowledge of the taste that was in my mouth.
