Chapter 1: The sun doesn't shine for me

''Who wants some good berry! They are free just for today.!'' A merchant screamed to a crowd who all proceeded to look at him. A bunch of kids immediately run toward him, all of them raising their umbrellas, covering them from the rays of sunlight.

''Is it true mister Robert?''

''Haha, please kid, take as much as you want, I won't need it when we leave the Sanctuary. I might as well give them away, or else they will just rot in my house.'' A devious smirk appears on his face. ''Or worst, the Bringer of the Eclipse will use them as a sacrifice to summon you back here to eat you instead!''

''AAAAH!'' The children all screamed in terror as they hid under the umbrella of their mom.

''Ah, please don't joke about this. You know how much he scares our children.''

''Excuse me, but I just couldn't resist. Here, take some berries as an apology.'' The merchant says with a smile that proves he was clearly not feeling sorry for his prank. But they only sighed as their kids were happy again to receive some berry too.

''Here a berry for you too.'' The man says with a smile, handing me over berry to a small boy wearing a white hood.

The child looked shocked to receive the fruit and looked at the merchant in shock. ''Eh?''

The merchant was about to give another berry to another child before stopping in his track. He looked back at the child and saw that he had extremely pale skin, and the fact that he was so skinny didn't help him. He was wearing a white kimono that covered his whole body, but it was obviously handmade as there were multiple traces of patchwork. But that was not what attracted the most attention, no, it was the white blindfold covering both of his eyes.

''Where is your umbrella?'' A kid asked just beside the boy in confusion. This comment made a lot of head turning toward him, all of them inspecting him with confusion.

The merchant was the first to detour his eye to look beside the young boy, and as he expected, another being was there. It was a small pokemon wearing a costume that covered it whole body. His head looked like a pikachu but made by a child. Its eyes were simply black dots drawn as a spiral, he had a zigzag as a smile and as orange checks at his side. The lower part of his body was rather plain, with only two small holes in its front. But it was the only part that was full, as some black tendril left the costume, proving that something was inside of it. And behind him was a wooden tail that looked exactly like a Pikachu tail.

This sight made the merchant freeze as he looked back at the child with a mixture of shock and fear. But the child regained his mind first and launched himself at the reserve of berry and took the most he could before running away.

But he wasn't able to escape in time, as the merchant caught his hood, revealing pristine white air. The child looked back with a tearful eye but still decided to keep running, which resulted in his hood ripping in half, revealing his skin to the sun, which immediately started to redden.

''IT'S THE BRINGER OF ECLIPSE!!!'' The merchant yelled at the top of his lungs.

The scream was enough to wake up the crowd, and a second later, the whole street was in panic.

''AAAAH!!! MOMMY!'' ''Quick, everyone escapes!'' ''He will eat us!'' ''He wants to devour our soul!'' ''Stay behind me!'' ''Quick! Catch him!'' ''We can't let him escape!'' ''SAVE ME!!!'' ''He touched me! He touched me! Will I die!? I will die! I don't want to die!''

But the forsaken progeny ignored their scream in favor of escaping into a dark alley with all the berries he was able to collect in his hand. His Pokemon followed him as he immediately jumped on his shoulder. The crowd could only look with regret at the Bringer of Eclipse as he escaped from them. But no one dared to pursue him.
