C H A P T E R 22 ☆ [Comfort]

it was finally happening, the day they had both been looking forward to. their very first date. everyone in their dorm woke up at the same time due to the school announcement system. it was the start of the vacation meaning that this matter was urgent. everyone got changed into something more casual and made their way to the school theatre where mr and mrs ubuyashiki were standing.

"alright students settle down now, you all must be curious as to why we called you all down here on a non school day. and believe me we wish this could've ended up differently but the school board has finalised this decision with a unanimous vote." everyone looked around anxiously before mr ubuyashiki spoke up again, "we have decided to split the boy and girl dormitories up. this decision was completely out of our hands and believe me i tried my best to prove that all of you were responsible enough to maintain yourself in the dorms together. this will be active by the start of next period. two weeks after the vacation ends." as expected the students were upset by this decision, gladly they didn't take it up with mr and mrs ubuyashiki as they knew that wouldn't change anything.

"this is honestly bullshit!" nezuko yelled out as her and the rest of the friendgroup (including obanai as he was there with mitsuri) went for some coffees at the school cafe "damn fucking right, they should've made mr ubuyashiki head of the board instead of some lowlife misogynist who doesn't give a fuck about this school!"aoi said referring to muzan kibutsuji "guys.. uhm. there's more to it" inosuke said  looking up from his phone "what do you mean?"zenitsu said "well.. we aren't allowed to choose our new roommates. they'll be automatically generated" the group froze for a few seconds, inosuke continued reading before he froze as wel "hey aoi..? what did you say your ex his last name was..?" "it's uehara, why?" "fuck. bro fucking hell.." inosuke threw his phone on the table towards the others and rested his head in his hands "what the fuck is he doing here?!"kanao said angrily "oh no.. oh fuck no no NO."aoi fell to the ground, her breathing shortening. and her view becoming dizzy. the others in the room faded away in her vision slowly, she could barely hear anything. she couldn't breathe, it felt as if her ribcage was slowly shrinking and tightening around her heart. this reminded her of a threat he made.. he promised her that if she ever left him he'd try to get her to snap out of her 'madness' and bring her back peacefully. if she resisted one too many times he'd come get her by force. he had already tried gis 'peaceful' method which meant that he was coming to get her by force now.tanjiro realised what was happening and stepped in, he sat down next to her staying calm forcing the others to calm down as well as panicking was just making things worse

"okay i need you to breathe slowly for me okay? breathe in for 5 seconds through your nose and breathe out for 5 seconds through your mouth. while your at it, could you name 5 red things in this room for me" aoi obliged and did as he asked, it calmed her down a little bit although she was still crying a lot "i promise you that NONE of us are going to let you go trough this alone, we're going be by your side the whole way trough. although even if we weren't you'd still be able to make it on your own, you're fierce, you've faced so many complications and gotten trough them all. you managed to room with three fucking guys even after all the trauma he gave you." tanjiro made constant eye contact with her to get her to realise that all of this was coming out of his soul and he wasn't making anything up the rest chimed in as well "yeah and you're hella strong too! i bet you that you'd be able to take all of us down in a few seconds"zenitsu chimed in the rest followed as well, obanai even let her hold kaburamaru to provide comfort, earning a kiss on the cheek from mitsuri"my point is aoi, you have nothing to worry about. not with us here and surely not on your own either."tanjiro finished off. aoi was a lot more stable by then she hugged him and kanao and inosuke came running to her. holding her in their arms "you have my blessing to marry him kanao" aoi whispered in her sister's ear causing her to blush a lot "guys i'm alright now don't worry, thank you." they all hugged her one last time before they went back to the dorms

aoi was almost done getting ready for her date with inosuke. she already had her dress on, her heeled sandals laid out, her hair done. she was fucking ready for this date. she got her perfume, sprayed it at the area infront of her and twirled in it. just incase she put the bottle in her purse and started gathering her stuff to go out. lastly she put her sandals on and looked at herself in her mirror one last time and nodded in approval.
