Chapter 12 - Mirror Maze Madness

This chapter took me longer than i expected :/

Dante's POV

"Yooo, hi guys!" Arman calls out, flashing us a grin, waving as he walks toward us. Behind him, I spot Fumiya, Ichika, and Taka trailing along.

Everyone's finally here! But someone's missing. Wait... Where's Pheng?

Before I even have time to turn around, Pheng jumps out behind me, his voice loud and sudden.

"Boo!!"

Out of reflex, I hug onto the closest thing next to me, which is Delta. I flinch. I feel Delta stiffens in my arms, clearly caught off guard.

"Pheng!" I yell, trying to play it off like nothing happened "Don't do that! You almost gave me a heart attack!"

Pheng bursts out laughing, clutching his stomach. "Hahaha! You should've seen your face! Totally worth it!"

Arman chuckles as he approaches. "Classic Pheng. You're always pulling something."

"Yep, typical Pheng" Taka adds, grinning.

I quickly let go of Delta and stepped back, my face burning with embarrassment. "Uh, sorry about that, Delta!"

Delta adjusts his shirt where I grabbed him and shoots Pheng a brief, cold look. "Was that necessary?"

"Oh, come on, Delta, don't be such a buzzkill!" Pheng says, grinning casually. "It's all in good fun!"

"Fun for you, maybe," Delta mutters under his breath, his ruby-red eyes narrowing slightly.

"I think you're in trouble, Pheng". Fumiya said, nudging him. Pheng just shrugs, still grinning calmly like he didn't trigger someone who might kill just now.

"Alright, alright," Arman says, stepping in before this turns into a fight. "We're all here to have a good time, so let's not start with the fight already."

"Yeah this is just 9 in the morning" Ichika adds, shaking her head.

Delta sighs quietly, clearly not in the mood after what happened. "Can we just go inside already?"

I perked up once I heard Delta and took out the tickets from my pockets. Then holding up the tickets for everyone to see. "I got tickets for everyone. We're all set to go!"

Arman gives me a thumbs up. "Good work, Dante. Let's get this day started!"

After we checked in our tickets, the moment we stepped through the entrance of the amusement park, we were greeted by so many fun rides and cool games. I can see Fumiya started taking pictures of himself and the amusement park's colorful scenery.

"Woah! This place is huge!" Taka said as he looked around with awe, his eyes were basically sparkling.

"Yea, no kidding" Arman's voice trails off, looking around too before looking at us. "So.. what ride should we go on first?"

I wanted to answer, ready to shout roller coaster, but Ichika beat me to it. Though not with the answer I wanted.

Ichika thinks for a moment, tapping her chin. "How about something that doesn't take out too much energy? It's best to avoid roller coasters, bumper cars, and other rides for now, so we don't get too tired too soon."

"Aww, I wanna ride a roller coaster thoughhh" Pheng groans dramatically, throwing his hands up. I nod in agreement, giving him a look like finally, someone gets it. But then he sighs. "But fine, I suppose we can do something less energy-consuming."
