ECHO
The last thing I remembered was Patrick crouched in front of me inside the hospital after he sent Castiel away. He was talking about my true nature, and then your world went dark. That bastard knocked you out; you were going to kill him when you saw him again. When I tried to move my head it felt fuzzy and when I tried to open my eyes my vision was slightly blurred. Somewhere close to me though someone was snapping their fingers, the noise hurt my ears. This pain was worse than any hangover you'd experienced with Dean.
Blinking a few times the blurry shapes started to materialise as normal, at least my vision and head wasn't as broken as I first assumed. Damm Patrick had a mean swing.
'Echo you're awake, good because I didn't think I hit you that hard. Stop being over dramatic, that's my job.'
I flinched and tried to move away from the closeness of Patrick's voice but once my vision returned I found myself immobilised. I was tied to a chair with my wrists cuffed to the arms and straps keeping my ankles secure, what was it with demons and liking to tie people up? It wasn't exactly a fetish of yours.
'Think of it as a precaution little Winchester. Besides hunters love tying us up so I'm returning the favour. Besides I hate the feeling, though everyone assumes I like it because I get tied up in our music videos, it gets old pretty quickly.'
I shiver as he brushes a stray strand of hair behind my ear, how could the man in front of me be a monster? Your brothers use to tease you about your little crush on Patrick; fans would kill to be in your position. Then again they wouldn't if they knew about the supernatural world and all its horrors.
'Usually Pete gets all the female attention, but I'm glad I'm your favourite Echo because you're my favourite Winchester.'
A pang of sadness ran through you, but you quickly shook it out of your head. He was a demon, you killed demons. Demons were manipulative, they couldn't be trusted. They made you lower your defences before they attacked you, I couldn't be fooled by Patrick. I sighed and leaned back against the chair.
'Have you always been a demon?'
He nods and moves away from me, only then I notice a large wooden table filled with food and drink. All I can do is watch as he walks to the other end and takes the seat opposite to you.
'I've always been a demon Echo. Have you always been a hunter?'
This felt like an odd conversation to be having with a demon, they were normally all about the torture. However a part of me knew that Patrick was different to all the other demons I'd faced, if Sam and Dean could see me now they'd probably disown me.
'No, my dad kept me out of the 'family business' but when he went missing my older brother Dean roped me back in. I wanted to finish school and have a normal life, have children and grow old with no worry about things that go bump in the night.'
I'd never told anyone that, especially not my brothers. They both assumed that I loved the hunter's life but a large part of me wanted to go back to a normal apple pie life. Then again with the amount of enemies we'd accumulated I could never have a normal life. Patrick frowned before nodding.
'Family have a way of getting under your skin, manipulating you into their way of thinking. But don't deny Echo, that feeling of power you get whenever you kill a demon or 'monster'.'
I clenched my fists and the ropes started to dig into my skin but I ignored the stinging sensation. Patrick chuckled and clapped his hands together.
'You've seen yellow eyes before haven't you? You had the pleasure of meeting my brother well that was before your brother put a bullet through his head. The 'special' children were his obsession.'
