(Tyler)

"Where is he?!" I growl knocking down trash cans. "We've checked everywhere!"

"I-I don't know." Skylar's voice wobbles and that just adds to my guilt. Not only did I push Kris down - I'm worrying my best friend.

"Skylar, don't worry, okay? It's my fault he's gone, we'll find him." I try to smile but my face refuses.

We've been searching for over two hours for Kris with no luck, if only I hadn't pushed him. I mean, what's wrong with me? Why did I say those things to him?! I'm as horrible as Jennifer Lopez when she tried go bring Cheetah print back - I really need to stop hanging out with Kris. Oh, Kris ... where are you?

~

"Bro, wake up, time to go look again." I groaned as Skylar shook my shoulder again. Then I remembered Kris and bolted up scurrying to get my left shoe on.

"That's my boy, now, come on!" He helped me to my feet and we ran out heading to his car instead of mine since it ran cheaper on gas.

"A lot of people from school say they saw Kris running last night in the direction of the big towns." Skylar said focusing on the road.

I nodded. "I just hope we find him."

His lips lifted in a way you'd think it'd be a smile but it wasn't. "Me too."

The ride there was quiet and would be comfortable if we weren't fidgeting and worrying ourselves with horrid thoughts. I would look out my window hoping to see Kris asleep in some field but that's as likely as a man getting pregnant.

"We're here." Skylar pulled off and we got out.

"Finally." I breathed walking onto the sidewalks."You go into Sears, JCP, and Subway." I motioned to them since they were lined up on the left of the street. Then, I looked to the left of the street. "And I'll look inside McDonald's, RiteAid, and Dollar General."

He nodded and before I could take off he grabbed onto my shoulder. "Good luck."

I looked down. "You too."

Then, I took off running into McDonald's. It was deserted today with only an old couple and a thirty year old man sitting at the tables.

I sighed, showing the picture of Kris to one of the employee's asking if she saw him. She shook her head, apologizing, and I left the store heading looking at the next stores I would search for him in.

I cursed. He's no where, no-freaking-where in the stores I went in, I hope to God Skylar found him. Please, I didn't mean to push him - and oh, I would never hit him. He just - he almost died and I might of over reacted ... and I really shouldn't have said those things to him. I really shouldn't of - I don't know what came over me ... at the moment it went so fast and he was making me so angry ... all I knew was he couldn't die. If he died, I would too. And I think ... I think ... I wanted to kiss him. But, that's too weird - I'm not gay!

"I never said you were," Skylar's words echoes in my head and I curse when suddenly there's a groan.

A familiar groan, Kris's groan.
