(Kris)
I hummed and blocked out my teacher's explanation of plant cells. Science is so boring, made me want to bang my head on the wall to see if I gained super powers.
Let's be real, I'd be ten times more sexy if I had superpowers. Girls would want me, but I'd be all, I'm gay, sweet cheeks. OMG, the heart throb of the era.
"Kris, are you not paying attention?!" Mr. Teds gave me the evil eye.
"Um, well. Oh, look, a unicorn!" I pointed out the window and the whole class actually turned their heads, except Mr. Teds— wow, he's going to kill me.
"Let's get back to the subject." He said tersely. "I'll need everyone's permission slip for the field trip."
"We'll leave tomorrow morning and won't return until Monday. If you don't have the permission slip, you should stay home tomorrow. Questions?" He looked around, straightening his shirt.
A brunette spoke up, "How many people are allowed in a tent?"
"Oh, three at most. I'm choosing who's with who though. Eewchoose who you're partnered up with." He rose his eyebrows at us, as if daring someone to argue with him.
A few people groaned, but I sighed in relief knowing I wouldn't have to fight for a tent to share with someone I didn't even like.
The bell rang and headed to lunch. Can't wait to sit alone, like always. I sat down and pulled my lunchbox out.
Skylar sat beside me.
Um.
"You're in love with me aren't you?" I sighed, "The bully's best friend turns out to be gay, madly in love with his prey. Oh, how cliche of you. But, oh, it was bound to happen. I'm just too sexy for this world. Okay, you can confess, but don't expect me to accept it."
I pretended to faint very dramatically. My head fell to the table as I spread my arms out. Skylar's laughter pulled me out of my act. Okay, he's weird.
"Tyler was right," He laughed. I raised an eyebrow.
"Right about what?"
He shook his head with a grin. "That you're hilarious!"
I blushed. Tyler talks about me?
He smirked. "Ooh, you're blushing."
That made my face even more hot.
"Does someone have a crush?" He asked. I pushed his arm.
"I-I do no-not have a crush on-on...Tyler!" My heart fluttered when I said his name. I clench my fists.
Skylar smirked, carefree as ever and bit into one of my chips.
"I never said you had a crush on Tyler."
His smirk taunted me. I looked down and feigned interest in the floor. Skylar tilted my face up, his eyebrows knitted together, smirk gone.
"I won't tell," He said.
"Thanks..." I smiled and looked down at my lap. Skylar patted me on the back and left. Some of his preppy friends questioned him but he just walked off with a shrug.
Skylar wasn't so bad. I could see us being besties, if it weren't for the fact he was popular and I was, well, me.

The cold breeze hit me as I walked out of the school building. Despite the longing to jump in a ball of covers, I smiled. Cold weather is the best weather. I can't wait until it starts snowing, I'll make the cutest snowman anyone's ever seen, named after last year's snow man that tragically melted away. Rest in piece, my dear Edison. You will be missed.
