Prologue

It was a chilly October night. Susan had just arrived. She was spending the night with her sister, Jade, while their parents went out for dinner.

"Alright," said Mom as she was putting on her jacket, "We'll be back sometime around nine. Maybe a bit later."

"Don't worry, Mom. I have everything under control," said Susan with a smile.

"I'm sure you do," said Dad jokingly as he walked out the door. "Be good and don't let anyone in."

"We won't, Dad," Jade said. "Bye Mom. Bye Dad," She said hugging them.

"Have a great time," Susan added.

They waved goodbye and got into their car. Dad started the car and pulled out of the driveway. Mom put some music on.

Music always relaxed her. They always go out for dinner on Saturdays, but she never feels good about leaving her daughter alone at home.

"She'll be fine," she said to herself. "Susan is with her."

With that said, she smiled and held onto her husband's hand as they drove onto the highway.

They had reached an intersection with a red light. Once the light turned green 'Back to Back' by The Ready Set started to play. Suddenly she saw a semi truck heading their way.

"Watch Out!"

Her warning was a second too late. The semi crashed into them. The window broke; glass raining down on her. Then the airbags exploded. She saw images of her daughters: Jade and Susan. She held on tight to her husband's hand as she heard the last few words of the song. Then everything went black.
