Chapter 15 (NOT EDITED)The ride was long and I was afraid to fall asleep, for fear that this Thomas guy would do something to me. So far, he hadn't sent off any good vibes.
He pulled infront of an average, everyday blue house. He looked over at me with a grim expression.
"When we enter, you will behave. You will not scream or try to get away. I won't hesitate to punish you, do you understand?" He says sternly.
I nod my head, not trusting my voice. It looked to be about evening time. He got out of the car and I waited to see if he was going to open the door for me. He didn't.
"Get out, you're on your own," he pulled the blue spray can out and sprayed me, not missing a spot.
I climbed out the car slowly, he was staring at me, making me uneasy.
"Stay close until the people here are used to you. Otherwise it's off with your head," he let out a humorless chuckle. I gulp and stand close to him.
"Not that close, geez, clingy much?"
Still I don't reply. I'm shaking inside. As much as I don't want to admit it, I'm scared. And as much as I don't want to be, I'm alone. I can't talk to my wolf, or anyone. I follow him into the house and see a girl, and 2 more guys.
"My my my, look what Thomas brought home," one guy budges the other.
"She's not for that, I'm doing this for the Rogue King. For protection," Thomas says seriously.
"Ugh well you're no fun," the other guys lets out childishly.
"Well she's a looker," the blonde haired girl says.
"Hi," I say unsurely.
Still they continue to talk as if I'm not there.
"That's the most I've heard her talk since I picked her up," Thomas sits down next to them on the couch leaving me standing awkwardly.
"Dana, show her to her room, make sure it's the one next to mine," one of the guys says making me shiver.
Dana, the girl, nods for me to follow her. When we rounded the corner she whispers, "They ain't serious, they just joking, they want to get a good scare outta ya."
I let out a small sigh of relief. The house was average. No picture. Nothing decorated. They were Texas Rogues. They seemed average to me. I thought rogues were suppose to he vicious creatures.
"Here we are," she ushers me into the room. It was nice, just needed a little life to it, like the other rooms in the house.
"Thank you?" I was unsure. I had never thanked a rogue before. I had never been so close to one and not fear for my life.
"No problem. If you need anything come to me, those nits in there would most likely try to scare you," she smiles kindly.
"Are you guys going to hurt me? Thomas says if I step out of line he'll punish me?" My lip quivered.
"I won't hurt you. I'm not sure about Thomas hurting you, but I know Ron and Jake won't touch you without your permission. They're kind hearted once you get to know them," she pauses, "just because we're Rogues doesn't mean we kill and hurt people all the time. We have our reasons for being Rogue. Just take that into consideration."
She leaves with a small smile.
Thomas's POV
When I picked the girl up from Lucian's house, I wasn't expecting her to look so innocent and scared. It was going to be hard to be tough with her. She looked lost. I could see the way she would glance at me in the car, it was the same way she looked at me when I told her I would punish her.
I had told Ron and Jake to frighten her a bit just to get her not to try anything. If I didn't need the protection of the Alpha King, I wouldn't have taken her away from her life. She'll get used to us eventually.
I watch as she sits on her bed and cries. I put on my tough facade and walk to her.
Layla POV
I sob into my pillow. I miss my dad, Evan, Marcus, mom. Everyone. Especially Connor. I would never get used to this but I'm doing it to protect them. I bet they are going crazy looking for me.
"Crying won't solve anything it never does, you might as well get up and get over it," Thomas steps in my room. His tone of voice is not at all kind. I immediately shut up for fear of what he'll do to me if I don't. But I couldn't stop.
"This is my room now, I would appreciate it if you gave me my privacy and left me alone," I say without a shake to my voice:
"Well it's time for dinner."
"I'm not hungry, thank you."
"You will eat. It's my job to keep you alive, now get up and go to the kitchen before I drag you there myself," he takes a step closer when I don't move.
He comes over to me, and grabs my wrist roughly. He pulls me up, like he promised; he grabbed me.
"Let me go," I kicked.
He lets me go when we had made it to the kitchen. I fall to the ground.
Dana rushes over to me with a scowl. My wrist was definitely going to bruise. She helps me up. At this moment I knew I couldn't be soft Layla. I had to be hard and demanding to get through this. I take a seat at the table, everyone watching me.
"What? You never seen a girl with eyes before?" I growl out.
This was going to be a rough two years. Or so I thought.
