~XAVIER POV~

How did David know that we've completed the mating process?

The only person that know so far is Daniel, my beta.

No.... Daniel would never turn his back on me. We have been friend since we were 4.

"Daniel. How did the rogues hand you the note?" Aurora asks him with her Luna voice.

Wow... I have never hear my little mate using that tone.

"Ugh I-I I mean h-he left it on the ground near your house, Luna," he stutters. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that isn't the truth.

"I. want. the. truth!" Aurora hiss through her teeth.

"I-its is the tr-truth, Luna," he nervously answer.

"Rogues, Alpha and Luna! There are around 40 of them Alpha" the guard reports, keeping his gaze on Xavier.

"Alright. I'll talk to you later, Daniel. Now go and take care of the rogues. Send about 25 warriors out," I command.

I have one of the biggest and strongest pack in America, so 40 rogues aren't enough to do my pack any damage.

But 40 rogues working together is not a common thing, since rogues are usually independent. Sure they can have one or two friends or allies, but 40? No doubt David paid them to attack our pack together.

"Xavier... I have this bad feeling about Daniel..." Aurora trails off, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"What? No way! We have been friend since 4 Aurora!" I protest, even though part of me wanted to agree with Aurora.

"I know Xavier!" she snaps, "but did you see his reaction when I asked him about the note? He was stuttering about something that he was in charge of!"

"I'll talk to him later alright?" I suggest, trying to keep my voice calm.

"Alright..." she says softly. I can tell that she is not convinced, though I feel lucky she knows that this is not the time to argue about that.

"But how did he know about our mating process?" I know the 'he' that she is talking about. The 'he' that ruined her life. The 'he' that I am desperate to kill. David.

"I don't know, Aurora," I say honestly. Though the fact that David is becoming more accessible is dawning on me.

"I mean when the note delivered, Daniel is the only one that knows about our mating process," she blurts out.

I don't know. Should I trust my mate or my beta? Well of course I will look at it from both sides, since I'm the Alpha. My mate does have a point, Daniel was the first and only one to know that we've completed the mating process and he stuttered when she asked him about how he got the note. But Daniel have always been my friend, he is like a brother to me. He would never betray me.

"You've got a point, Aurora. Don't worry, we will figure it out soon." I say as I pull my little mate in for a hug.

I bend down to my mate's height and kiss her soft lips.

For a second, everything bad seems to go away.

*Knock Knock*

And then of course someone will ruins this perfect moment.

"I'll get the door," Aurora says softly even though disappointment is evident in her eyes.

"Alpha, Luna," Daniel bows in respect " the rogues are gone."

"Couldn't you just say that to us through the mind link?" I complain thinking about how he interrupted us.

"Well, actually, this is better since we're going to have a talk anyway" Aurora says with a soft smile. Daniel immediately tenses up but agrees to stay nonetheless.
