~XAVIER P.O.V~
"Why did he kicked you out of the pack?" I blurt out, curiosity is evident in my voice.
"Well let's see. Where do we begin?" he says dramatically,with a devious smile on his face" I betrayed him. I hired the rogues to take over his pack. I paid the rogues to inject the wolfsbane into your father's body."
"But why did you do that? You were his beta!" I say, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Why? Why Xavier? He stole my mate!" he screams out," He stole my mate! And make her the Luna."
"My mother... is your mate? And you killed her?" I think out loud.
"Yes, Xavier. Liana, your mother is my mate," he reassures me," and killing your mother wasn't part of the plan. She loved your father and I equally. And yes, you and Daniel have the same mother."
He glances at me before he continues," You see, I don't like to share my mate around. Seeing your mate with another man is not something you would wish for. You have met your mate; you should understand what it's like."
I understand this. Dax, my wolf, and I would go crazy if we see our mate with another man.
"Mine," I groan out.
"Yes, Aurora is yours and Liana was mine," he reassures me.
Jackson doesn't treat me like an enemy, which I was glad for.
"But why.... My dad never found his mate, did he?" I ask.
"He did, but he rejected her. You see, your dad disgrace rogues, and his mate was one. He didn't even bother to find her history." I nod, signalling him to continue,"So instead, he took my mate. Liana was a strong, independent, smart and beautiful woman, with beta blood in her as well."
"Did my father known that Liana was your mate?" I ask, trying to keep my voice calm.
" Yes, he did indeed. But since he didn't have the connection with his mate, he doesn't understand how precious a mate is. He doesn't believe in true love either," I look at him, confused," He only chose Liana to be the Luna for her features. No love was involved in their relationship."
Ah. Now this part I understand. My father would do anything for power.
I slightly nod, showing that I understand his point.
"So of course, after 4 years of seeing my mate together with your father, I couldn't stand it. We started seeing each other at night or in our spare time, secretly of course. We fell for each other from our first touch," he glances at me when I fake cough," Ergo, we started making a plan to overthrow your father, so we can be together. But as your father got injured, Liana was killed, leaving Daniel, our kid, behind."
"Wait... Daniel as in Daniel my beta?" I say, emphasise the word beta.
"Yep. Thats the one," Jackson says and shrugs it off like its no big deal.
"Why... do our betas have to be so complicated?"I mutter. Though with advance hearing, Jackson heard me.
"Look son. I actually didn't wanted to kidnap you today. But you see, I found Daniel, my son who hasn't contacted me in 4 years, is actually pretty nice." Jackson says, guilt flash through his eyes.
"So you are doing this just to get close to your son?" I ask, slightly raise my voice," Kidnapping an Alpha? Do you even know what you're getting yourself into?"
"What? I can't get out now. It's too late," he says.
"Its not too late, Jackson."I say, hoping to change his mind," you can always help me."
He ignores what I say and let silence fill the truck.
"They must have gotten the Luna..." he mutters after what seems like a century of silence.
"WHAT?!" my voice booms through the truck," AURORA?"
"Shhh. I'm afraid so, Alpha." Jackson says calmly.
"Oh god, Daniel is going to kill me..." he mutters.
"We're here!" Daniel's my beta, voice booms through the truck. The truck stops completely after a few seconds," Bring Xavier down for me, dad."
"C'mon kiddo. I'll see if I can help you," he whispers.
Without warning, the truck doors go wide open, letting the sun to shine directly to my face. I blink furiously, trying to adapt to the light.
"Xavier?" a familiar, sweet voice cracks.
"Aurora?" I reply back, before my vision is clear again.
I gasp at the sight; Aurora, my angel has a black arm and black eyes, with red finger marks on her neck. Her eyes are cold, but water gathers as soon as it lands on mine.
"She didn't co-operate with us, so we kinda have to use force on her," a foreign, yet recognisable voice says. I look over to see the owner's of that voice, David.
I snarl at him, feeling useless as he put his famous smirk back on. My mate, a person who I promised to protect with my life, is standing there, hurt and I can't do anything about it.
"Xavier... " her sweet voice cracks again.
"Princess. I need you to stay strong." my voice cracks as my gaze hold hers.
My heart clenches as a loud sob escapes her beautiful lips.
Aurora was about to give me a reply when David interrupts us with his mischievous voice, "Enough enough. Now. What should we do to the Luna and Alpha?"
"How about, lock them up into our cells and torture them until they give up their titles for us?" Daniel says dramatically.
"Sure, Daniel! Such an amazing idea!" David replies just as dramatic, with a fake smile.
"Enough. Lets get this straight." David says with his Alpha tone," so Xavier. We have a proposition to make."
He looks at me as I nod, signalling him to continue.
"As you know, an Alpha can give up their title to their beta," he says coolly.
"And...?" I ask as he glares at me for interrupting him.
"Let's make this short. You can keep your and your little precious mate's life if you step down, giving Daniel the Alpha title." he says.
"But you already have a pack of your own, David." I hiss even though I already know the answer," What advantage does this bring you?"
"We all know you are smart enough to figure this out, Xavier." he smirks," I will, of course join mine and Daniel's pack together and create the strongest pack in America."
Daniel let out a small snort, but soon covers it up with a cough when David glares at him.
"So, what do you say? Alpha?" he turns his attention back to me.
"No..." I mutter.
I turn toward Aurora's direction to see her eyes getting watery again, slightly shaking her head.
"Sorry what was that?" David says mischievously.
"NO!" my Alpha voice booms through the wood.
"No?" David asks coolly with a wide smirk," Cool. We'll start with your little mate."
Aurora lets out a loud sobs before Daniel knocks her out. I snarl loudly before my vision shut down.
