A/N this rant is dedicated to.................. jasminlolez ! And btw, this isn't targeted at you, jasminlolez , it's targeted at them people who are too lazy to use grammar.
Okay, so, this is a rant to all of those writers out there. I'm sorry if this offends people, but I just must say. Is it that hard people to use autocorrect? I mean, I understand spelling supercalifragilisticexpialadocious wrong, but when you're spelling right, rite? Or write, rite? Really? Oh, don't even get me started on really. People spell really, realy. Seriously. Is it that hard to use spell check? And then when people say 'me and Bob'. Just no. It's 'Bob and I'! And also, when writers feel that they can write actual conversations, I understand texting to write it like this, it makes sense, like this:
Ann: Hi
Joe: Wassup
Ann: Nothin much
Joe: Thats so fabulous
No. Absolutely one hundred percent no. Is it that hard to do this:
"Hi!" Ann exclaimed.
"What's up?" Joe asked politely.
"Nothing much," she replied.
Joe thought about his answer before he responded, "That's so fabulous!"
Which one did you find more interesting and professional? The second one, I'm guessing, because guess what? It gives you information about the character's personality! And also, when people compile all of their character's speech into one paragraph, I just get lost. Like here's an example:
"Hi!" Ann exclaimed. "What's up?" Joe asked politely. "Nothing much." "That's so fabulous!"
And imagine that with longer sentences and like ten different speech thingies. Exactly. It is so freaking confusing.
And the thing is, I'm not upset if you're younger and haven't learned these skills yet, it's those people that know it and are just too lazy to capitalize the beginnings of sentences and proper nouns, spell basic words correctly, and use grammar skills. It gets on my nerves, so use that extra few seconds it takes to type and write it right. Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant and IF YOU ARE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE THAT DO THIS PLEASE DO IT CORRECTLY, BECAUSE I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON IT BOTHERS.
