"Malfoy, I'm really not in the mood!" I spat, hatred dripping off every word. "I wanted to ask you something I saw during our dance class" he ignored my earlier statement. I froze, he want supposed to see anything. "Yes?" I asked timidly. "When McGonagall shoved us I saw you-" I cut him off, putting a hand over his mouth and attempting to drag him into the shadows when I saw the person I have feared."What are you doing!" He snapped, jerking out of my grip. Damn it! Father's brown eyes bore into mine as he walked closer to us. "Mr.Malfoy, Teresa" he said, his voice dangerous. "Father" I forced myself to say the retched word. Draco looked surprised, now he knew my real last name.
"What are you doing out this late" he interrogated, giving me a look. "Um... I was just, um, taking Ma-Draco to the library to finish his, um, charms essay, he is bloody awful at it" I lied, much less smoothly as I normally do. "At this time in the morning?" He glowered. "Well, it's due tomorrow and, um, we got caught up in the ball. Is it a problem, father" I asked, staring at my shoes.
Draco was beside me looking bloody confused, yet not protesting. "No... I just needed to talk to you, about something, important" he said, his eyes giving me a message that 'talk' meant, being beaten black and blue for something he finds despicable. I gulped. "We can have that, that talk... Tomorrow!" I bargained, fear hidden.
He nodded, then stalked away. "Charms essay, huh?" Draco raised an eyebrow. "Uh, I gotta go" I rushed, spinning around. His hand stopped me. "I covered for you, therefore, you will help me" he ordered. "Wait, you actually need help?" I asked in disbelief.
He gave a embarrassed nod.
I scowled at him, then took a deep breath. "You tell anyone about this and I will beat you to a bloody pulp and hex you into oblivion" I threatened. "But, I don't want to go into the library and have the professor question us, you're sneaking me into the Slytherin common room" I demanded. He hesitated, but nodded anyway."Not even Goyle, Crabbe, and Zabini" I continued, hastily grabbing my bag and heading in the direction of the dungeons. "Thanks" I heard him mutter. "Your father's terrifying" he broke the silence. "He has an odd look in his eyes" he thought aloud. No kidding! I found myself shaking my head. "No, he's a wonderful man" I argued. Lie. "I never questioned it, just pointing it out" he defended.
"What was in that letter, you seemed devastated" he asked yet another question. "Oh! I was fine, just a misunderstanding, I basically cried over a typo" I sighed. Lie. He looked like he was going to protest, but stopped in front of a plain stone wall.
Draco muttered the password, then looked in the common room. "Come on" he said, implying the coast was clear. I hesitantly scrawled into the common room.
In less than a second be was dragging me up the stairs. "I have my own dorm" he explained, opening a door with only his name on it. I nodded, reluctant to enter the spotless room.
I found myself looking around the extravagant dorm. The four post beds had a green crystal band spiraing up the posts. The curtains were the same shade of green, yet had a snake embroidered in silver. The room gave a comforting and mysterious vibe. I slowly inched forward towards the window. So it's true? The Slytherin really is under the black lake.I pried my eyes away from the window and turned to Draco. "What have you got done?" I asked in a small voice. "The introduction" he answered. I smirked, grabbing my bag. I heard Draco groan and get to his feet.
I couldn't even think about it until I felt him grab my shoulder and shove me and my bag towards where he had been sitting only moments ago. "You can't tutor me from across the room" he insisted, plopping down beside me. I slowly moved about three inches away from him. I got myself positioned myself to be facing him, my book resting on my crossed legs.
I took my quill and spun it around in my fingers. "You look so unlike your normal, hardcore and cold self" he said out of the blue as I explained the basics of the essay. I froze, harshly throwing my head up to watch him. "Excuse me?" I asked. He shrugged, sticking with his further statement.
"Um... What does that mean?" I asked hesitantly. He watched me for moment. "Normally, your an ass to teachers and a mystery to students. Everyone is weary of you because of your personality, but right now you seem so innocent and open" he explained.
"Well, same old me" I whispered. "Your so confusing" he scowled, jerking away and writing random words on his parchment.
I shrugged, ignoring it. "We all have stories we will never tell" I said after a minute of nothing but his quill scrawling against his parchment. "Hmm..." He didn't acknowledge me. I felt anger and... no, it, um. I felt hurt. "Done" he said, exhaustion etched into every word. I managed a small smile.
"Its nearly four am... You should stay here tonight, if anyone sees you out at this hour you'll be in some deep trouble" he exclaimed. I shook my head. "Umm... I can always sneak- I mean what about classes?" I tried to come up with an excuse. "It's Saturday, genius" he chuckled. He was already making a bed on the floor, then surprised me by plopping into it. "I, um... But-" he cut me off. "You're staying here, I can see how tired you are" I sighed at his statement.

I woke up with a start, shooting to a sitting position. I looked around and grabbed my bag, careful not to wake Draco up. As I looked around I nearly died of fright when I heard the bathroom door open. Out came Draco with no shirt on and a toothbrush in his mouth. "Um... What time is it?" I asked, looking anywhere but him. "Eleven" he shrugged, completely unfazed by the awkwardness hanging in the air.I nodded, heading for the door. "Well, everyone will be in the great hall or asleep, so I should go now. I also need to take my essay to Flitwick" I explained, reaching for the door. "Actually, I already owled both of our essays to him, I woke up a while ago" he explained, shrugging his shoulders.
I looked at him confused. "Don't worry, I didn't do anything wrong to it" he chuckled. "So you didn't get in my bag" I asked. He could've found the letter or the firewhisky!
"No" he said simply. I nodded and then hurriedly left the room, anxiously walking through the empty common room. The minute I made it out, I rushed to the Gryffindor common room, I need to start researching ways to hold my breath for an hour. Should be easy... I'm gonna die.
Dracos P.O.V
I watched as Teresa left, aghast. I had seen something, no, many things on her shoulder when her sleeve had slipped down. I'm not sure what they were, but they, they looked like scars.
I sat on my bed. It all adds up! The flinching, dance lesson, lies to stay away from her father! Buy Dumbledore, he, he wouldn't let that happen. Right? I hastily stood up, throwing on a shirt and rushing out of the common room.
