Chapter 18: Painted Red

Warning VERY short Chapter. Next will be a lot longer I promise!!!!

               Kat's POV\

Please be okay, Naruto. Kat was sprinting and leaping roof to roof looking for her favorite blond. A dozen other ninja were also out looking for him or Miss Akame Fujimoto, who is probably after Naruto. Damn it! Where is he! I should have spotted him by now since he always walks this way home.

Sweat poured down Kat's face. The glare of the sun and the midday heat were sapping away at her energy. "Kora! Yui!" She called screeching to a halt in front of the ramen stand. The two girls who were working there looked up and waved cheerfully.

"Hey Kat! Congrates on your new job!" Kora asked.

"Have you seen Naruto?" Kat demanded. "I can't find him anywhere! Did he pass by yet?"

"No. Why?" Kora asked confused.

"Are you sure? I have to find him!" Kat said with her voice becoming hysteric. She couldn't lose Naruto. She just couldn't.

"Whoa!" Yui held up her hands in a 'time-out' pose. "What happened?" Yui was tense and staring intently at Kat.

"Akame Fujimoto escaped and now I can't find Naruto. He walked home by himself and I can't find him! I don't know what to do! Kakashi is at some meeting and no one has had any luck finding him!" At this point tears were welling up in her eyes and her hands shook when she reached up to wipe away the tears.

Yui jumped over the counter and gasped Kat's trembling hand. Looking into Kat's eyes with her dark blue one's she said calmly, "We will find him so calm down. Just take a deep breath and don't give up. Naruto would be disappointed if he saw you like this." Turning to Kora, who was a pale as a sheet, she called back, "Kora you run the stand! I'll be back after Naruto is found!"

Yui then bit her finger and started forming hand signs before slamming her hand on the ground yelling "Summoning Jutsu!" In a small poof of white smoke that startled bystanders four birds were summoned.

"Find Naruto!" Yui commanded all of the birds launched themselves into the air and set off in the four cardinal directions. Tearing off her apron she then grabbed Kat's hand and leapt on to the nearest building's roof.

"We will keep searching from the roofs while my birds get an aerial view. Let's go!" Kat nodded, filled with hope now that a prodigy of the Sand was helping in the search.

Naruto POV

"No injuries I promise. BYE!!!" the energetic blond ran out the door and made his way back to his home.

Opening his eyes the blonde cursed the universe and the glee it must feel when proving him wrong. Pain rang out from multiple parts of his body; ankles, shins, wrists and a horrible pounding in his head. His wrists and ankles pain was caused by the tightly wound rope keeping him from moving.

He scanned the dark room he was in. Wow a dark room with blinds drawn and nothing in it and a captive bound with rope? How cliché. Wait for it in three seconds the door will open and my captor will stroll in. 3...2...1...Click!

The door swung open and in walked Miss Akame. She was dressed in a dark tank-top with mesh gloves and black ninja pants. The pants were too big and held in place with a piece of cloth acting as a belt. Her top was also a bit oversized. I wonder where she got the clothes Naruto thought randomly.

"So... did I miss the memo where you had been released? Or escaped?" Naruto asked with a small smile, wincing at the pain in his head. "Nice outfit by the way."
