"The last test is to make at least three clones," Iruka informed me, sitting behind a desk with the suspicious examiner. Ha, honestly if I hadn't been working so hard on chakra control the past few years I wouldn't be able to do something like this because of the nine-tail's chakra destabilizing mine.
"Clone Jutsu!" Naruto yelled loudly, disrupting his chakra at the last second so only a single deformed clone appeared.
Iruka looked at him knowingly and sighed softly before announcing, "You fail!"
His partner suddenly spoke up on Naruto's behalf. "Iruka, this is his third time taking the test and while he couldn't conjure up a perfect clone he did fairly well in the other exams." Naruto perked up at this and the examiner continued, "I'm not that great at Clones either. So what if we cut him a break, just this once, and-"
"The answer is no Mizuki. Every other student managed to generate three compared to Naruto's one, which he produced very poorly. With all due respect, his performance doesn't merit a passing grade."
A little while later Naruto sat on the Academy swing listening to parents congratulate their kids. Hearing all their praise made it easy for Naruto to have a downcast expression, playing the part of the flunky. Soon the whispers turned against him like they always do.
"Hey isn't that the kid who-?"
"Yeah that's him. The only one who failed!"
"Serves him right. Can you imagine what would happen if they let someone like him became a shinobi? I mean, think about what he is..."
At this point Naruto slipped away, having heard enough. Used to it or not, hearing people say such things still bothered him no matter how bright of a smile he pasted on and ignored them. Only four days back and he really missed his home in the Sand. Dani and Kat would never let him feel this way: alone. Deep in his pity party he climbed on to the roof of a building and sat there imaging his far off return. Naruto almost missed the arrival of Mizuki, but felt his presence coming up behind him.
"Naruto?" The blonde turned around pretending to be surprised.
"Mizuki?
Looking a little awkward Mizuki hesitantly said, "Iruka is a really serious guy... His parents died when he was young... Everything he has accomplished so far he has done by himself. It took him a lot of hard work and discipline."
What is he getting at? "What's that got to do with me?"
Mizuki took a seat next to me and glanced over with a smile. "You remind him of himself. He's thinking he is helping you to grow strong, by making you push yourself even more. Try to give the guy a break. Can't you understand where he is coming from, one orphan to another?"
Naruto sat silent for minute before softly saying, "But I really wanted to graduate." Let's see what he will do with this.
A small smile crossed his face and he stood up with an exaggerated sigh, "I guess there is no choice then." The blonde looked up startled, but internally thought Gotcha! "Let me tell you a secret I've been keeping for a long time." Naruto listened intently, honestly interested in what he was going to say.
Following through with his plan Naruto found himself in the Hokage's mansion in the middle of the night. No one spotted him until he met up with the Hokage in the hallway.
"Naruto?! What are you doing in my house?"
Not wanting to break character he smiled mischievously and with a quick sign preformed Ninja Centerfold causing the Hokage to have a nose bleed and pass out. Ha! I can't believe he actually fell for it, the perverted Old Man.
