Niall's POV
The next time I woke up it was because I was being lightly slapped in the face. I opened my eyes to find Kate right on top of me.
"Good afternoon sleepy head," she said smiling.
"I'm the sleepy head? You fell asleep first." She just kept smiling. "Either way, you look like you feel much better."
"Yeah, I think I just needed a lazy day with my amazing boyfriend."
"Ditto. How long have you been awake?"
"About 5 minutes. I tried to wait but I got bored."
"Of course you did." I gave her a quick kiss and sat up. She rolled off me and back on the bed. "Is your mom home yet?"
"No, she will be in about an hour though."
"So what do you wanna do?"
"Hang out with the guys? I need a little bit of their craziness to get my mind off everything."
"You got it. Wanna change?"
"As much as I love being in your sweats, I smell like sick, so yeah."
"Alright, I'll go call the guys and get one of them to pick us up.
"Alright. Wait, how did you get here?"
"I had security drive me."
"Oh, tell them thanks for me. For, you know, transporting my savior."
"Ok, now get changed." I gave her a quick kiss and went downstairs to call the guys.
Kate's POV
After Niall left the room to call the guys I got up and changed. I rumaged through my clothes until I found something suitable. I put on some black jeans, a blank tank top, and a white shirt that said 'WILD SPIRIT' on it. I slipped on my black converse and my beige woven fedoran and headed downstairs. "I thought you were going to do that!! Kidding, yeah, I called them. They'll be here in 5."
"Alright, what are we going to do tonight?"
"What do you wanna do?"
"I've kinda been wanting to go to laser tag recently."
"Laser tag?"
"Yeah?"
"This is why I love you. You always come up with the best ideas." He gave me a hug and then continued to eat. I had some goldfish while we waited. When the guys got there we looked up laser tag places and found one that was open late and not too popular. We called ahead and they said they would close early. We would come around the back and have the place to ourselfves.
When we got to the place we ran in and met the owner. He told us that he and a couple employees would be here to run the games for us. He also said that they have to close at midnight at the latest, so we needed to be done by then. Also, he said that we needed to try and follow the rules but we didn't have to compleatly since we were the only ones. When we went in the course there were 3 different colored vests. Niall and I were yellow, Louis and Harry were blue, and Liam and Zayn were red. When the doors opened we went inside and all ran to seperate sides of the arena.
Niall and I went to the top area and pointed down at the other guys. Louis and Harry ended up infiltrating our spot, so we went directly below them so they couldn't shoot us. We got Zayn and Liam a couple times until they ran into a corner on the other side of the arena. We snuck out from under the upper area and were bombarded. Apparently the guys had formed an alliance to take us down. We ran and somehow got seperated. I hid in a corner and all of a sudden Louis ran through screaming, causing me to scream which is when Harry came and grabbed me and threw me over his shoulder. They carried me up to the top and put me in the corner.
"Seriously!? Again!?" The guys just started laughing. I crossed my arms and made a pouty face. Then I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I pulled it out to see a text from Niall telling me a plane for my escape. I texted back a quick reply and the plan went into action. Niall snuck up and shot Liam and Harry. I jumped up and shot Louis & Zayn and ran towards Niall. As we ran down the ramp hand in hand the end buzzer rang. We put our vests away and walked out laughing.
We took a break, got drinks and snacks, and then played about 4 more games. When we finished our last game it was almost 11:50 so we decided to go ahead and leave. We needed food so we stopped by Rouses' and got food and drinks. When we got back to the hotel room I made up fried chicken and mac & cheese. When we finished Liam started doing the dishes and I headed into Niall's room to get ready for bed. He followed me in there and put his arms around me from behind.
"You wanna take a shower?" he asked me.
"Yeah."
"We could take one together," he said in a sing-songy voice.
"No," I replied back in the same tone.
"Alright," he kissed me on the cheek. "Go take a shower." He threw me some clothes and I headed into the bathroom.
When I finished he was sitting in bed watching ESPN."
"Are they talking about the Saints?" I asked as I walked over.
"No, the Steelers."
"Ick! I seriously so not like the Steelers." I climbbed into the bed and cuddled up into his arms.
He looked down at me, "Did you have a good night?"
"Every night with you is a good night." He kissed me and then turned to look at the clock.
"Bed time?" he asked.
"Bed time," I agreed.
He turned off the light and we settled down into the covers. "Hey," he whispered.
"Hey"
"Happy Birthday." I smiled and rested my head on his chest. I thought of how lucky I was to have a boyfriend as amazing as him. I fell asleep in the happiest mood I've ever been in.
