So, this is the first story I've ever written for fun and I'm really nervous about posting it, anyway, I hope you all like it. Please vote and comment!

"Kate! Mom's on the phone!" Yep, right on time, every morning. . . well I guess technically 12:30 isn't morning but you get my point.

"Are you up yet?" Same start every time.

"Yeah, I'm up. (Lie) No, I haven't taken a shower yet, no, I haven't done any reading yet. OK. yeah I know, 10 pages every 2 hours. OK, love you too, bye."

I was a fairly simple girl from a fairly normal city. My name is Kate Hoyt and today was the day that my life changed.

I'll be a junior in high school this year. I live in Mobile, Al and have my whole life. Most of my friends know me as the sarcastic nerd. This is incredibly true. Everyone in my grade knows that I'm obsessed with the shows Doctor Who and Sherlock. I've always been fairly creative and have been in the Gifted and Talented Program at school since 1st grade. But something only my closest friends knew about me was that I'm on love with the band One Direction.

And they're what changed my life.

So after I got off the phone with my mom I went and took a shower. I did my normal morning routine and got dressed. (http://www.polyvore.com/day_outfit/set?id=55328040) I was never one for make-up so if friends and I are getting ready together I'm usually done first.

After I finished putting my hair in a simple side braid I went downstairs to lunch. After finishing my and yelling at my brother for jacking up our Internet I went outside with my book and sat in a lawn chair in front of my house.

I had been reading for about 30 minutes when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, it was my best friend Amalia.

Amalia: hey, do you wanna go get slushies from Speedway?

Me: you know i'm on a diet. i'll walk and meet you but i'll just get a water :)

Amalia: ik, ok i'll see you there in a few

Me: kk

I had a couple different ways to get there from my house. I decided to take the longer way because it has less hills and more shade.

As I walked I played some music on my iPod. I always look around at the houses, streets, and cars when I walk so when I saw a big black SUV pass I didn't think much of it. I defiantly was not expecting what happened next.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and heard a familiar Irish accent say "I think you dropped something."
