It had been about a month since the guys left. And I missed them so much. Ecspecially Niall. Everyday until school started I called him at Noon. Unless he was doing an interview at the moment and he would text me before and call me afterwards. One time he was on a radio show and the hosts got him to call me. I had a short conversation with them and told all the guys I missed them and we hung up. Neither of us wanted to say "I love you" on air yet.
I skyped them once a week, it was hard to get away from all the guys but Niall and I were able to get a couple minutes alone everytime.
School had started back 2 weeks ago. The guys had some time off soon so they were gonna come down then. It was public that I was dating Niall so I was always stopped in the hall by girls I didn't know asking me questions about the guys. I tried to answer them as vaguely as I could and then walked on. I had almost all of my classes with Amalia, so when I would start day dreaming about Niall she would catch me and wake me up before the teacher noticed. The only class I didn't have with her was band - I play clarinet - and I loved that class to much to doze off.
One day in band our director announced that we were going to play a One Direction medley for our fall concert and that we were getting the music today. most of the guys and a few girls moaned. Half of the girls started screaming while the other half giggled and talked to their friends around them. I felt someone poke my back and turned around to see my friends Max smirking.
I made a face at him, "That's very unattractive."
"Like your face is?" he retorted.
"Niall loves my faces." He laughed and I turned back around. When I got my music I started to go through the fingerings. When I went through the whole arrangment I realized that it started with One Thing, slowed down into Gotta Be You, and ended with What Makes You Beautiful.
"Alright guys," said my director after we talked over some of the difficult parts, "Let's run through it."
We got throught the first 2 sections and were at the chorus of WMYB when I heard singing. I wasn't the only on that heard it because people were looking around while still trying to play. I couldn't look around without messing up so I stayed forward. The director hadn't stopped so why should I? The singing continued until the piece was finished. I was pretty sure I had figured out who was singing so I turned around as soon as we were done. I was right. There they were, all 5 of them, standing in the doorway. When they saw me looking Niall waved. I put my clarinet in my seat and ran into his arms. He picked me up and spun me around. The class clapped and he put me down.
"What are you all doing here?"
"I missed you," replied Niall
"Niall here was a tad bit Kate sick" interrupted Louis. I turned to the other guys and gave them all hugs then turned back to Niall.
"Don't worry, I was a bit Niall sick." He blushed and we hugged again.
Niall's POV
I was nervous. We were surprising Kate today and I wanted everything to be perfect. We were going to come in her band class while they were playing a medley of our music and we were gonna sing the last part of it.
We stood by the door listening for our cue to come. When it did we walked in and started to sing. My eyes went straight to Kate. She was dedicated, she didn't even try to turn around. But as soon as the song ended she whipped around and looked at us. I waved and she got up and ran over. She was beautiful. She was wearing a skirt that had a space print all over it, a navy blue tanktop, black converse - I swear she loves those things, and a necklace with blue flowers and silver leaves. Her hair was naturally wavy and the waves bounced as she ran. She jumped in my arms and I picked her up and spun her around.
"What are you all doing here?" she asked once I put her down.
"I missed you," I replied
Louis put his hand on my shoulder, "Niall here was a bit Kate sick." She went and hugged the rest of the guys then came back to me.
"Don't worry, I was a bit Niall sick."
We hugged again, "Is this your last class?"
"Yep."she smiled.
"Good, I want as much time with you as I can get."
Her conducter invited us to stay for the rest of the class. She went back to her seat and we stayed by the door so we wouldn't distract her more than she already was. When thay finished she put her instrument awaya nd skipped over to us. She sat down on my lap and I kissed her. She put her arms around my back and I put mine around her waist.
"I'm glad your back, but why are you back so early?"
"You really didn't think I was gonna miss my girl's birthday?" We kissed again but stopped when the dismissal bell rang.
Kate's POV
I was super happy when he said he remembered my birthday. We had only been together for about a month and I mentioned it only once, on our first date. That show's how goos a boyfriend he is. I love him so much and I can't wait to spend the weekend with him.
Today was Thursday and my birthday was on Saturday. The guys said they had to leave on Sunday. So we had 2 full days together. I wanted to spend as much time with them as I could. When the bell rang Liam, Louis, Zayn, and Harry went to the car while Niall accompanied me to my locker. People were watching as we walked down the hall hand in hand. When we got to my locker and I opened it he laughed. I looked at him then back at my locker. Then I realized I had pictures of all 5 boys in my locker.
"Shutup," I said looking back and gathering my stuff.
He put his arms around my waist and kissed my cheek. I think it's cute." He put his chin on my shoulder. We stayed like this while I finished putting my things away.
"Oh, I almost forgot." I pulled his hat out of my bag and put it on. I rested my hands on his and turned my head towards his. He looked up and smiled. I put my bag on my shoulder and closed my locker. We interlocked our fingers and headed towards the door.
