Niall's POV
I kissed Kate on the forehead and them Liam and I walked to the closest shop. We stepped in and I immeadiatly went to the back wall covered in bags of candy. I took a bag of gummi bears off the wall for Kate and then grabbed a bag for myself as well. I went over to the drinks and pulled out two Mountain Dews. As I was walking to the cashier I saw Liam in the corner staring at the rack of magazines. I walked over to see what he was looking at and nearly dropped everything in my hands when I did.
Over half of the covers were plastered with pictures of Kate and I: holding hands, walking, kissing, laughing, you name it - there's a picture.
How did I not see all the papparazzi? I mean, some were in front of the hotel, which made sense, but also some were when we went to get pizza or at the mall on her birthday, when I could've sworn there weren't any there.
I grabbed the one closest to me, deciding I would read it when Kate fell asleep, and went to the cash register. The cashier took one look at the magazine then looked back up at me.
"Yes, that's me, I'm only getting it because I want to know what they're writing about my girlfriend." She smiled and rung it up.
Handing me my bag, she said "You shouldn't worry about what the haters say. As long as you love her, that's what matters."
"Thank you," I smiled back at her.
"And by the way, you all make a super cute couple." I smiled again and walked back to my super cute girlfriend.
As I got closer I saw that the guys were surrounded by girls and Kate was off to the side sitting alone. I walked past the guys and over to Kate. She looked up and had a dissapointed look on her face.
"What?" I asked.
"Go talk to your fans," she answered.
"I will in a minute."
She was about to give me a sassy reply (I just knew it) but she was interrupted by a girl that looked about 14.
"Ex . . . excuse me, Kate? Will you sign this?" She asked quietly.
"Me?" Kate asked in disbelief.
"Um, yeah?" She held out a magazine which was open to a specific page. Kate took it and looked at the photo on the page. It was a picture of her on her birthday from the hips up. She was smiling, and I think at the time, laughing, She looked back up at the girl and took her pen, signing it. She handed it back to her and then the girl asked something even more surprising.
"Can I have a picture with you two?"
We agreed and she came and sat on the arms of the chairs in between us. I took her phone and Kate and I leaned in closer to her. I snapped the picture and then handed it back to her.
"Thank you," she said, staring at the picture.
"No, thank you," Kate replied with a smile.
After she left about 10 more girls came over wanting both of our autographs and pictures. After all our signing and picture taking was done it was time to board the plane. We were in first class, so we got to board first. I helped Kate hobble down the walkway and onto the plane. When we got to our seats she took the window seat and I took the aisle, Louis and Harry were 2 rows infront of us and Liam and Zayn were on the opposite side, on row behind us. Kate shifted her weight so her back was against the side of the plane then put her complimetary pillow behind her. I moved the arm rest back and pulled her feet into my lap so we could elevate her knee, then put a blanket over both of us.
The pilot's voice came over the speaker a few minutes later saying that 'we're making our way down the runway and will be taking off shortly'. Kate was fine up until we started gaining speed. She squeezed my hand and closed her eyes. I rubbed circles in the back of her hand with my thumb to calm her down. She took deep breaths as the plane came off the ground and tilted upwards. Once we were even again, she opened her eyes.
"Are you scared of flying?" I asked her.
"No I just don't like taking off. I'm good with everything in between." She smiled and leaned down to get her snack from the bag. "What's this?" she asked holding up the magazine.
"I, uh . . . " I forgot that was in there. I just got so distracted by the fans that I didn't remember to put it in my backpack. "I only got it because I wanted to see what people were saying about us."
"Us? It doesn't seem like they're talking about you at all. Just me, and apparently my 'slut ways'."
"You and I both know you're not a slut."
"Well you're fans sure seem to think so. I mean, it's already all over twitter and now it's in the magazines. How long until I'm talked about on television!?"
"Sweetie, please calm down. What does it matter what they say. If they're being mean to you the I don't believe they're true fans. True fans should be happy us when we're happy, and you should know because you're the truest of them all."
"I know, I know. It doesn't matter what they say, because I have you. And they're just jealous that they don't have a guy this sweet."
I took her hands in mine, "They don't know about us. Babe, it's a long flight, why don't you get some sleep."
"Aright, but you make sure you get some too," she replied.
"Ok," I leaned down and kissed her forehead as she closed her eyes. Within minutes she was alseep. I reached into my bag and pulled out some paper. I set to work while also makin sure that Kate was alseep.
A little over and hour late I had finished my song. But it wasn't just my song, it was our song. I wrote the "They Don't Know About Us" at the top and slid it back in my bag. Just as I did so. Kate began to squirm in her seat. About a minute later her eyes opened and she looked up at me.
"You didn't get any sleep, did you?"
"Ummmmm. . . no?" She gave me a dissapointed look and sat up.
"Alright." she patted her leg, "Your turn."
I turned to face the aisle then layed back so my head was on her lap. She pushed my hair back off my forehead and kissed it just like I did to her. I closed my eyes and a few minutes later I was out.
