Ronan himself already being a veteran when the E-day came and boy oh boy he was their the very second the invasion start, and he fcking hated the Locust with fiber of his being, his father his predecessor died fighting against them, by that time he was merely a Col, his promotion was quite fast even for the likes of him and have killed many people from the UIR, where peace should have reign for long only to be fought against an enemy that they have never seen before and have been fought for their very survival itself
His father Richard Belleza argued of using the Hammer of Dawn against their cities, and instead consolidate their strength as much as possible due to fear that they do not know much about the true strength of their enemy thanks to their underground city that they have recently found fighting against their hometurf
Even then the Hammer of Dawn still strikes but due to Richard they at least manage to save millions but that is only all as they know they cannot saved that many due to world wide invasion
