You sat awkwardly on the side of your bunk, your feet touching the cold wooden floor as you thought about the last night terror Gaea put you trough. You couldn't remember as much from it as you normally could from the others. It couldn't have been that bad, if you couldn't remember it. Right?

You sighed softly and ran a hand through your messy hair. You were wide awake, but you needed sleep. Nightmares had kept you awake for some days now and you wouldn't let Gaea continue to take your precious sleep from you. It was the only time of the day you could relax and still you couldn't because of those nightmares. And the worst ones always came back to you when you fought enemies. You would often just stop up, while the nightmare haunted your memories. The others would have to save you, making you feel guilty and feeling like a burden.

You'd always felt like you were a burden. The others were an important part and practically heroes. You just stuck around because a certain Kelphead wouldn't let you stay at camp, without him being there to protect you if anything would happen. You'd told him how you felt about it all, but he brushed it off and said no one thought the same. You couldn't help but not believe in his words.

You sat debating with yourself if you should go to Percy, maybe he could help you get some sleep. But on the other hand, maybe he had a dreamless sleep and nobody wants to be disturbed in such a rare time. Biting your lip, you stood up and opened the softly creaking door. Closing it behind you, you walked slowly down the dark hallway, to Percy's room.

You stopped in front of his door and debated with yourself once again, if you should go in or not. With a deep breath you opened the door and closed it softly behind you. When you turned around, the sight shocked you. Percy sat on the side of his bed, just like you did before he came, looking at you with puffy eyes. He quickly stood up and embraced you in a tight hug.

"Percy," you mumbled softly. He nuzzled his face into your neck and tightened his arms around you. You wrapped your arms around his torso and enjoyed his warmth. Obviously he had a way worse night than you and it was your job to be there for him.

"Let's sit down," you said quietly. He nodded slowly and pulled away, heading back to his bed. He lay down and cuddled up with the blankets, looking like a kicked puppy. You sat on the bedside and caressed his cheek with your finger. He smiled softly at you and you couldn't help but smile back.

"Do you want to talk about it?" You asked. He bit his lip and shook his head.

"I don't think I'm ready for that yet," he said. You nodded and lay down beside him. He lifted the covers and you squirmed into his warmth. He wrapped his arms around you and kissed your nose. "I won't lose you, right?" He asked after some time in silence.

"Well, it's not a part of my plans," you smiled. He smiled for a second before it disappeared again. "Hey," you said. "I won't leave you and if anything was to happen to me, I'll fight until I no longer have any energy to fight with. I promise you, I'm not gonna give up too easily," you reassured him. He pulled you closer to him as you spoke.

"I can't help but worry about you, especially as long as you stop in the middle of a fight," he whispered. Your smile faltered.

"I promise, I'll try and stop it. I hate when I do it too, I'm trying to stop it," you said. You nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck and yawned. You closed your eyes and felt yourself slipping away.

This time in a dreamless sleep.
