You missed her.

It was hard seeing a friend go, even though it's the best for them. You were heartbroken the day she left and the feeling came back just two days later. You felt utterly alone, even though you had plenty of friends and hung out with them. It just weren't the same without her.

You sat high up in a tree, crying as silently as possible. Not half of the sun was visible behind the horizon anymore; it was surely getting late. You brushed away some tears with the hem of your camp t-shirt under your hoodie. It was getting chillier, but you it didn't bother you. It was nice. Sitting here alone and just letting it out. Sure thing people thought you were overreacting, but you brushed it off, with the thought, that they just haven't been in your place before.

You calmed down and enjoyed the silence. A small smile graced your lips as you started humming a happy melody you remembered from your childhood. It was almost like the few birds chipping in the background became silent. Your small smile grew bigger as time drifted by slowly.

A sound came from under you; it sounded like someone humming the exact same melody as you. You looked and saw Percy standing there smiling up at you. You smiled down at him and motioned for him to climb up to you, and he did so.

"Hey," he breathed softly when he reached you. "What're you doing here?" He asked and sat down behind you, since you'd moved to give him space to do so.

"I just needed some fresh air," you said. He kissed the back of your head. His warm arms wrapped around you and pulled you closer to his warm body.

"You miss her, don't you?" He asked and leaned his head on yours. Your smiled faded as you hesitated, but nodded slowly. He sighed softly and focused on the almost hidden sun. "I'm always here, you know."

His words surprised you. You were expecting something like; "But it's been so long." Nodding your head, you snuggled a little more into his warmth.

"I feel like she's forgotten me, or found someone way better," you said as you started to tear up.

"Yeah... I mean, I'm sure she made some friends, but I don't think she'll forget you. You were so good friends. Memories, like the ones you two share, aren't easily forgotten," he comforted and rubbed his hands up and down your sides. The tears were falling freely down your cheeks again.

It was kinda amazing... How fast one can go from happy, to sad, to happy again and then sad but at the same time relieved. It felt good to let it out to someone, other than a tree, and to be comforted. Of course your other friends comforted you too, you just never told them about the thoughts, that bothered you the most.
