Just Another Day...

Chapter 2

On the flight we talked about stuff and stuff and stuff until he gave me his number! I was screaming on the inside but I had to act calm on the outside.

We finally got there and Cameron and I said our goodbyes and hugged! Ahhhh! I felt this tingle feeling in my stomach. My cousins were staring and probably cursing.

It was a beautiful August day and what did I feel like doing? Shopping! Before I shop till I drop I had to see Kimberly.
"Mom, can I go to Kimberly's apartment?"
She looked at me and her green eyes mine. She answered with attitude that I've never seen before!
"It's almost your sisters wedding and you want to go see Kimberly! First of all you don't have a date and secondly you're not even paying attention to your cousins like Josh, Phillip, Ian, Sarah or even little Patricia!
I can't believe you Amber Skye Leaves!"

"Mom, first of all I have a date! His name is Cameron! I met him at the airport. He's super nice and kind. Secondly, I know you think I will never get married but I will I believe my true love is out there! And I know you love Ashely and I am just the other child. Finally, I just want to thank you for embarrassing in front of my family! I will meet you tonight at the hotel... room number 378."

I walked away I didn't know where I was going. I felt alone and nervous. I texted Kimberly and asked her to meet me at Forever 21. New York is a beautiful place. It has so many shops and buildings and of course the Statue Of Liberty! It's gorgeous at least from a distance. Imagine what it would look like up close. I fed the pigeons and they pecked my hands it felt weird. I was laughing and everyone was looking at me. Kimberly answered and said she'd be there in 5. I was super excited! I walked to Forever 21 and it took only took me 2 minutes! When I walked in I saw Cameron with another woman! She had brown curly hair and she was wearing a crop top with shorts! She had heals and she was perfect! I hid from her and I ran into Kimberly! She saw me hiding and screamed me name!

"Amber! I missed you so much!" I quickly got up and looked at the clothes. I acted surprised and have her a huge hug and whispered in her ear if he was looking at me. She told me he was and he coming over to us with that girl!
"Hey Amber, this is my cousin Pauline! "
I started playing with my bracelets and that's what I do when I get nervous. Kimberly was laughing at me.
"Hey Cameron! Nice to meet you Pauline." We shook hands and we both had the exact same bracelet! "Oh my goodness Amber we have the exact same bracelet!" I told her I got it when I was 6 and she said same. Which I found hard to believe.
"Amber, is this Kimberly?" I nodded and he shook her hand and introduced himself.
Pauline asked me when my birthday was. I told her it was in December!
"Amber is it December 7th?"
I looked at her in a weird way!
"How did you know that?"
She tucked her brown curly hair behind her left ear.
"My birthday is on that day too!"
I looked at her with shock and asked her what her last name is?
"I was adopted but my original last name was Leaves."
Cameron quickly replied.
"You never told me your original last name! That's Ambers last name."
I felt sick... I felt this tingly feeling in my stomach. It was different this time. I had to PUKE!
I puked all over Cameron's shoes! What a great impression I made. I felt sick. Kimberly brought me to her apartment and at first I thought it was just us two but then I saw Cameron outside threw the crack of the door.

Kimberly gave me a few words of advice and calmed me down. She hugged me and held my hand and told me I was like a sister to her. We started laughing! I thought of an idea! Why doesn't she come to my sisters wedding?! I went outside and apologized to Cameron for everything!
He hugged me and I felt warm, secure and safe with him.
"Amber Leaves, I was very worried about you! How are you feeling? Pauline is in the washroom puking as well! I am so sorry you had to experience that! I know it's a lot to take in and I want to be there with you every step of the way! I was wondering if you wanted to go on a fairy boat tomorrow night? Is that okay?"

I was blushing I felt my face turning red!
"Just as friends or a date?"
"Whatever you want it to be!"
"A date tomorrow at 8:00 pick me up at my hotel!" I couldn't believe it! My very first date!
Kimberly was going to spend the day with me tomorrow and shop till we drop and tomorrow night I am going on a date! I was super excited. Kimberly was smiling from ear to ear.
I thought it was time to go see Pauline and tell her my idea for the wedding!
I opened the washroom door and she was sitting on the floor crying and crying and crying.
I sat down beside her and asked her to come to the wedding. I told her it's our sisters wedding! She hugged me and told me that she remembers me. That our mom and dad sent her to an adoption centre when I was at school. A couple years later her new parents adopted her. She was 10. She hugged me and invited me to go out for breakfast one day. I agreed but as long as Kimberly came! She agreed and we both got up and went outside and watched a scary movie at Kimberly's apartment! Cameron out his arm around me and I leaned in to him. My sister Pauline and Kimberly made popcorn and were hiding underneath the blanket. It was fun! But unfortunately it was time to go home...
I said goodbye to everyone and headed back to my hotel which would be interesting...
