niall horan;

He didn't really regret saying those words, it was true. He spent half a year by himself, fighting by himself, hunting by himself. It was hard at first, a couple times he almost died of loneliness, either trying to kill himself or almost giving up on fights against zombies or the stupid bounty hunters.

But in the end he saved himself, and he thought now that he was with his best friends, he could become stronger, see a different side to the messed up world. But now he regrets everything, because it seems all this was just proving his point, everyone wasn't the same anymore.

Liam was still asleep, dried tears against his cheeks, a dried puddle on the rocks below his head from the tears.

Niall slowly wiggled himself out of the cage that was Liam's arms, the man still had those pulsing biceps, and even in his sleep he was alert. But the blond succeeded and slowly got to his feet, zipping up Harry's jacket once he realized he was shivering from the morning breeze.

Harry and Zayn were asleep, both past out uncomfortably on the logs that they settled around the fire that was now burnt out, smoke still slightly floating in the air from it.

Louis wasn't anywhere, and Niall never felt this drop in his stomach before, of worry, but suddenly he heard ruffling in the bushes, his body reacting instantly. He rushed to Liam and grabbed his sword from beside him, whipping it around and almost had a heart attack seeing Louis flinch and stumble back, almost getting his throat slit opened.

Niall huffed, closing his eyes and blowing out his cheeks. He reopened them to glare at the older lad.

"Don't-don't do that." He grumbled, pulling his sword away and settling it down beside Liam again. Louis was just staring at Niall, the blond thought maybe the lad would be chuckling, making a joke about his reflexes, but no, he just sat down on one of the logs again, taking a rabbit that Niall didn't know was strapped to his belt and setting it beside him.

"How did you get that? With your spear?" Niall asked, sitting down beside Louis who seemed to shuffle away from him.

"It's for breakfast, not healthy, but better then us starving ourselves." Louis seemed to ignore Niall's question, and just started remaking the fire, once a spark came and the fire was lit, he settled the rabbit into it, but left a part out for him to grab.

Niall wanted to start a conversation, but it seemed the man didn't want to have anything to do with him.

"You like to hold grudges." Niall mumbled, getting up off the log and walking back over to Liam, but got forced to stop when Louis grabbed his wrist.

"What you said last night. Hurt a lot, we're trying to help your ass and all you're doing is complaining about our friendship." He growled out, his hold was harsh and Niall felt the bruises forming.

But the blond roughly pulled his wrist out of Louis' grasp, stumbling back a few feet before steadying himself.

"Well sorry that I'm trying to regain the friendship we had before all this shit. You wanted to find me Lou, you wanted to find all the boys and the boys wanted to find us too." Niall glared down at Louis who turned the rabbit in the fire, a deep frown on his face.

"I wanted to make sure you were safe, I wanted to make sure all my friends were safe." His voice was barely above a whisper, tears welling up in his eyes. But he quickly wiped them away. Warriors don't cry.

"Well, we're all safe. Liam's family is dead, I have a busted nose, you are beaten to a pulp as well as Zayn, and Harry has gone total insane." Niall spat out the sarcasm and then stomped the rest of the way over to Liam, who was starting to stir from the yelling, as well as Harry and Zayn.
