liam payne;

Silence was what Liam wakes up to every morning. He wakes up before sunrise and gets ready to go to Grace. Usually Brother John is the only one up at this time when Liam walks out of the gas station with his two hand guns in their holsters and his sword over his back. Sister Gracious and Sister Precious are always sleeping together in their bed that is really a double bed (mattress) peacefully until when Liam leaves and they'll get up and start cleaning and sitting around the station for a while, waiting for Brother John to come back with something to eat or for him to come back and give them actual food that he hunted down. They sometimes refuse but Liam always promises he preyed before killing the animal. Which, wasn't a lie. Liam was part of their family now, he needed to follow their rules even if he wasn't strongly catholic.

He walked out of the station, seeing Brother John sitting at one of the lawn chairs looking at the rising sun. "Good morning Brother." Liam says and Brother John turns around and gives Liam a tight smile. "Come here my brother." Brother John said and holds his hands out for Liam to take. Liam takes both of Brother John's hands and kneels in front of him. Brother John blessing Liam's soul and preying for his safety and forgiveness. Then kissing the backs of Liam's hands and and nodding him on his way. "Have a good day Brother Liam." Brother John said and sat back down in his chair, looking up at the sky and letting out a mumble to the gods.

Liam knew what it was about, and Liam didn't like it but he knew that he chose to be a bounty hunter, and his new family didn't approve of it. And if they could, Liam knew, they would kick him out of the station faster than they would of when they found out and let out curses to the gods asking them why Liam chose such a job.

He walked along the highway. Many, many cars scattered the road and ditches. Blood splattered leather seats in the abandoned vehicles. Bullets holes littered the cars as well, some vans and even trucks pushes on their sides by the blast that cut off all the electricity. Some cars rusted to the last tire, some just starting the get the rust to their wheels.

Liam passed his 'checkpoint' he calls it. Where he's half way to Grace.

A helicopter.

The helicopter was smashed to pieces, the propeller of the helicopter knocked on the ground, it was longer than Liam has ever seen when he went on a helicopter. The blade long like a telephone pole, half holding into the last piece on the helicopter and most of it crashed onto the ground, the end it dug into the ground. The helicopters nose wasn't damaged a lot, it looked like the helicopter swirled down backwards and landed on the tail and than slammed to the ground. The tail only a piece of mangled metal. The whoever was in the helicopter must have been military because the English army sign was on the side of the helicopter. The people inside of it, when Liam checked. Wasn't there. Ether dragged out by the zoms, or became zoms and stumbled out of the wreckage. It looked like the helicopter was trying to shoot the zombies from the bullet holes and the many shell casings on the ground. Thousands upon thousands of shell casings. And when the explosion happened, the helicopter lost all electricity or got blown right out of the sky and landed I the side of the highway. What ever the army was doing to protect the people on the highway. Failed miserably.

Liam walked past the helicopter, taking a quick glimpse of the helicopter seeing nothing but the faded sign washed from many harsh winters and rainy days.

He turned back towards the road and moved around cars, jumped across them when the cars were smashed together. Looking for any sign of life or death in the highway and cars. Nothing.

This was a major trade route again, the traders moving beside the road opposite to the helicopter. Bounty hunters passing this road everyday to get to work and always making sure its clear.

Liam walked on and on until he finally saw the tips of the scope towers. Liam smiled and kicked the dirt as he walked slowly towards Grace. He was another hour walk, meaning head get their by afternoon. Liam didn't rush, time was gone, he shouldn't rush to get to places anymore.

He looked up at the searing hot sun and squinted into the light. The weather definitely became hotter after First Night. No one knew why, it just started to get warmer and warmer and colder and colder in the winters.

Liam didn't like the winter parts, but he was used to it, his winter coat in his bedroom at the station.

Food was hard to get of course in the winter, but since he was a bounty hunter he could walk to Grace and pick up some things that the traders left. Of course, he'd be the only one eating it, because Brother John, Sister Gracious, and Sister Precious all didn't like getting food that resembled the old world. They cherished the new world. The old world was a horrible past that was burned alive by god.

Liam didn't say anything, but he really wanted to just be free and not worry about having to prey every night and day. But he just couldn't see himself alone in the Ruin or living in a town filled with people. Liam wanted a family, and this was the closest he was going to get until he decided to move and follow his dream of finding his band mates.

So Liam walked along the trail until the children started appearing. He walked off the trade route and away from Children or Lazarus. Not wanting the hurt as he lurked through the forest and towards his second home. 'The place full of sinners.'
