“Ian, where are you going? You didn’t train today.” My father called out walking into the room I was walking out of.

“I am going to hang out with my friends. I trained this morning before classes.” I answered turning around.

“What about the pack meeting tonight?” Dad continued with a disapproving tone.

“I haven’t spent time with my friends in a long time. I need some time away from the pack for one night.” I sighed looking at him.

“You are going to be an Alpha soon. You need to remember where your loyalty lies. You shouldn’t be parading around with those mix of misfits.” My dad continued with his condescending tone.

“Are you done?” I looked at him. He never approved of my friends. They weren’t wolfs.

‘Well, how about you shift and show him?’ My wolf whispered like always when I got a little angry.

My wolf didn’t get out much because I kept myself calm and collective with my head in the books and training in human form alone. If I trained with anyone especially my father, then I would…

‘Show him that he can..’ My wolf got louder in my head. He had been very restless recently.

‘Well, I need to run…’ He pushed hard at my resolve.

Shaking my head, I pushed him back in his place. Tonight, I will let you run for a couple hours alright.

‘Fine,’ He huffed.

“Darling, let him go. He needs some time out of the house.” My mom spoke up placing her hand on my father’s shoulder. I didn’t notice my mother walked in. She was great. I was closer with her than my father.

“Alright, don’t be out too late.” My father sighed.

“Whatever,” My wolf pushed through without my consent. He didn’t like to be put in his place especially by my father. Alright, one hour I hissed at him.

‘Bring it, son’ My wolf growled.

My father growled at my disrespect. I quickly responded.

“Sorry,” I walked out.

Walking out of the house, I growled trying to push my wolf back. He wasn’t moving.

‘Please, just give me this night.’ I shouted at him.

‘You are not my master…We share this body…let me out’ He hissed.

‘Okay, you win, but we have to be on campus at 7 to meet my friends’ I complied since I haven’t let him out in almost a month.

‘Sure, okay,’ he pushed through. I relaxed letting him flood my body. My body morphed into so much different than my human form. I was now a big honey brown wolf at least that is what I have been told. I actually felt relieved because I had been stressing out and pressure was building with my dad and the fact that I haven’t found my mate.

Our paws hit the ground running.

‘See I told you. You need to let me out more so you can relax. You are too controlled. Let yourself go sometime’ My wolf howled with the enjoyment of the wind in our fur.

We ran for about an hour.

‘As for our mate, she is near.’ He purred moving from the brush stepping onto the pavement of the campus.

He continued forward. Sniffing the air, I was about to stop him. When…bam…like a brick wall, her scent hit us. My wolf knew he had to have her. I was so stunned by the aroma of her. It was the smell of lavender mixed with vanilla mixed with the smell of fresh sheets mixed with something that had a hint of spice on the end. It was heavenly. Before I knew it, I was about fifty feet away from the entrance of the Magale auditorium. Still a big wolf.

‘What are you doing?’ I pulled us back into the shadows.

‘Mate,’ He wrestled against me.

‘I know, but we can’t be in wolf form. We don’t need to scare her. She may not be like us.’ I reasoned with him.

‘Mate,’ He pushed against me.

‘Yeah, l know. We are going to love her, but let me have control now.’ I smiled inwardly and pushed him back.

‘Fine, you better not mess this up. I won’t let you have another chance.’ He let me take over.

‘Thank you, I won’t,’ I stretched now naked. Thank goodness, I brought my extra clothes in a backpack I carried on my back. Dressed, I walked out of the shadows. Her scent was still strong but was going stale. I followed the smell as I tried not to drool at the intoxicating aroma.

‘Well, find her,’ My wolf huffed.

“Ian, hey, over here,” I heard a familiar voice call from behind me.

Reluctantly, I turned around but didn’t move. It was Evan. He was one of my best friends. To many people’s surprise, Evan was a vampire. I quickly waved him over.

“What’s up we are going to be late for the concert? Sarah is being forced to wear a prom dress. It is so funny.” Evan laughed not really taking in my expression.

“Yeah, well I have to find someone.” I cut him off.

“Who?? We need to go in. Come on.” Evan tried to tug at my arm.

I growled at his hand on my arm. I looked around trying to follow the scent.

“Wooh, have you shifted recently?” He looked at me concerned.

“Yes, I found her.” I started to pull him with me through the double doors into the auditorium.

“You mean, her, your girl,” His eyes widened in surprise.

“Yes,” I continued into the lobby of the auditorium her scent was so fresh.

“Good for you man. Who is she?” He asked following me.

“I don’t know, I just,” I started and then stopped when I heard the most beautiful voice coming for inside of the auditorium.

Walking in to the auditorium, I saw a group of women dressed in ball gowns. They were all singing Latin, but all I could hear was the one voice that was magnificent. It came in and out. That voice was my mate, my love. She was in this group.

“I think we need to sit down.” I heard Evan behind me. Ignoring him, I took a step down the stairs. Her voice was beautiful. And her scent. Oh my goodness…

‘Mate, come to us,’ I heard my wolf howl in the back of my mind.

“Ian, what are you doing?” Evan stood in front of me blocking my sight. His eyes were black gauging my control. I growled at him under my breath looking away.

‘Take him down,’ My wolf challenged.

“Mate,” I tried to push him out of the way.

‘We need her,’ My wolf purred.

“Sir, will you please take a seat,” the usher came up behind me.

‘Like hell, I will, I will murder you all.’ My wolf growled. My mind was so clouded by instinct. I had never had this big of drive from my wolf. Or been this out of control.

“Get a hold of yourself man,” Evan looked at me placing a hand on my shoulder. I felt a chill leave his hand into my body. My body started to chill and mind unfogged. With that, he gave me back some of my reason and nerve.

‘Mate,’ My wolf fought back.

“I am sorry. We are,” Evan pushed me to the nearest seat.

As I sat down, I heard her perfect voice again and I had to find her in this chorus.
