Evan POV:

After a several hours, Ian shifted back and pulled his mate close again. His mate had stopped bleeding ,and her heart was beating. She somehow was still breathing through the wraps and injuries. The wound caused during the marking was healing at an alarming rate considering her body was in shambles. Sarah and her mother were no longer in the room. They had gone to rest at Sarah's mother's home. It was about mid-morning almost noon. The Beta's son, Blake, had introduced himself soon after Ian's wolf had calmed down and had snuggled into his mate's side. That was a sight. A big wolf the size of the bed trying to snuggle with a person without smothering or suffocating them.

Anyways, Blake was in the living room area staring at a blank television. He was there physically, but mentally. He wasn't. Anger had been replaced with sadness and depression. His father's death wasn't suppose to happen.

Ian was out of control. I don't know what transpired between himself and his father. Ian started to follow me towards his mate. But then, he stopped and started walking towards his father again. Then, a growl escaped him. He started to attack with aggression that had been directed at me previously. His injured father, the alpha, was no match for his attacks. Ian's wolf was not playing around. At soon as he saw an opening, he lunged for the kill. However, must have been Blake's father that pushed the Alpha out of the way. He saved his Alpha at the sacrifice of his life. Ian's wolf ripped out the Beta's throat and cracked his neck. The Alpha looked upon the body of his Beta with shock. It had shocked everyone. Unaffected by the death, Ian's wolf turned and ran towards me. I started to run away to escape the wrath of Ian. However, he caught up with me and ran beside me. He wasn't hostile towards me, but looked at me curiously. It was very confusing.

Everything was kind of at a stand still for the time being. It was a time for Ian's mate to heal. Nothing seemed to have changed that much. Either Ian or his mate have moved, nor did they show any signs of moving. We kept watch out all day and into the night. Sarah and her mother returned in the evening. As night fell, Sarah and I sat in her room watching for a change or something between Ian or his mate.

"Ian's found his mate. Now, it is your turn. When are you going to find your beloved?" Sarah broke the silence.

Well, my beloved was sitting in front of me, but she would never know. I was a coward. She had turned me down so many times. I thought I could get over it. I was trying so hard to put her in the same class as the other girls I had been with. The other girls were just a distraction. Tonight before everything happened, it had been the best night of my life. The kiss was beyond amazing. I sighed thinking about it.

"I don't know. But I know she is close." I looked off.

"That's great! Well, you better not tell her about what happen tonight. She wouldn't want to hear about a heat of the moment kiss that meant nothing. She might not let me hang out with you anymore. I wouldn't blame her either. Actually, I wouldn't blame her if she put you through hell after hearing about all the girls you have been with." Sarah got up to use the restroom.

"Haha, true," I responded half-heartedly. Nothing. That's what the kiss meant to her.

"What, no macho response?" She looked back slightly but continued into the bathroom.

Not responding, I watched her out of the corner of my eye as she closed the door.

Shaking my head, I looked at the couple on the bed. His head was nestled into the crook of her neck. Ian stirred. I instantly became alert. There was movement. He let out a moan. Within a couple of seconds, a small whimper came from his wrapped mate. I got up and walked over. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I shook his shoulder a little.
