You were sitting with your best from James in the park on a bench eating a sandwich, he was trying some interesting muggle things like pocky and some different sodas he was trying to drink all of them together
You chuckle "they don't taste good all together James."
"Why not?!" He cried and looked at you
"Because they just don't." You giggle alittle and pick up your favourite kind of pop and take a swig
"It's not fair they taste good but when together they don't.." He scratched his head
You nod "yeah I know." You stood up "let's walk." You held out your hand to help him up
To admit you had a crush on him for a couple years you didn't realise it till you started to get jealous when he was around lily but of course even then he couldn't stop talking about her and her rejections
"Why won't lily just say yes? I know she likes me." He took your hand standing up putting all the food away
You sighed alittle to your self "maybe she just doesn't see how great you are?" You looked at your feet and kicked some rocks
He looked at you "you think I'm great?"
You nod silently
He blushed "thanks (f/n)"
You walked together talking and joking around about small things
~school time~
You and James are walking to class together and lily comes up
"Hey James, do you want to go on a date with me?" She smiled at him
He tried to hold his excitement in and nodded "yeah of course." He tried to act cool
She smiled "pick me up at eight."
He nodded as she walked away he looked at you "this is awesome!"
You sighed and walked away from him to hide your sorrow
~that night.~
He came in the common room you were reading a book and looked over
He looked really sad
"What's wrong prongs?" You raise an eyebrow
"She stood me up.." He laid on the couch putting his head on your lap
You blushed and stroke his hair "hey she doesn't deserve you."
"Then who does.." He shook his head
" I do.." You look down at him
His eyes went wide then he chuckled "I think you do too."
"Who better then your best friend?" You raise an eyebrow
He propped his arms up so he was closer to your face and kissed you passionately you put the book to the side and held him kissing him softly
