"When will your shift be over?!" Eyana asked, barging into my room. "Eyana! I was near to get a heart attack. Learn how to knock first." I said, putting a hand on my chest. "Hehehe. Sorry."
Today was a very hectic day. I had no time to even breathe. There were a lot of patients that I had to look at as there was a lack of doctors today. Without any hesitation, I took two doctors'patients and looked after them and the same goes to Eyana.
"In 10 minutes." I answered her question, looking at my watch. "What!? Why so early? Mine is finishing in two more hours." She frowned and I burst out laughing at her pout. "All the best." I wished her and started to pack my things.
"By the way, what are you going to say to him?" She asked suddenly.
"Say what? To whom?" I asked back, knowing that she was talking about Zayn's confession that day when his family came over to my house.
He doesn't bother me much after our engagement. Not that he did before, but whenever he calls me I won't answer the call or even if I take them, I will find excuses and end the call immediately after.
It's not that I'm being tortured by him or he is forcing me. It's that I will feel guilty if I give him hope. I can't raise them when I can't give him what most girls will give their finances or their would be.
Love.
I've already been played by Rayan and I couldn't repeat that same mistake again in my life. I can't afford to let my heart fall into the same storm twice.
"Oh, stop acting, Myra. What is your answer to his confession?"
I still went for a moment and closed my eyes to calm myself before I said "I am never going to give him any answer. I already told him that I am doing this marriage just for my parents. That's it. Don't ask me anything about this anymore, please."
"Don't you think you are punishing him for what he never did?" She asked, in a soft tone. "No, I don't. I made it clear on that day itself. If he doesn't want to marry me, then he can cancel this wedding." I told her, coldly.
What else do I need to do? My heart is still not ready to accept whatever Rayan had done and on top of that, here I am, getting married to my brother's best friend. If I was given a choice, I would have not agreed to this marriage.
I don't feel any guilt as I told him everything on the day where he came for the proposal. It was him who confessed even after I made everything clear about myself, that I am marrying him for my parents'sake.
"See, if you are still stuck up with that idiot, get over it, Myra. You know, that day when your in - laws came to see you? I don't know whether you notice or not, but I did. He was looking at you only as if you were his everything. As if you are his world."
