Nikaah day
"Yaar! How much time do you need to get ready!? Remember, you are not the bride! Even the bride herself is ready. What's taking you so long!?" Mahira, my cousin, shouted to Eyana, who's changing in the wardrobe.
"Wait na! I'm struggling to hook the blouse!" This time, Eyana shouted from inside. Mahira laughed so hard at her struggling voice. "Do you want me to call Ahaan bhai to help you out?"
Laughing, I shook my head at them. Eyana didn't shoot back at her. "Kya hua? Are you blushing, Eyana?" Chuckling, Mahira asked again when Eyana didn't answer her earlier question.
"Leave her alone, Mahi." I said, as I glanced at the clock. Just one more hour. After one hour I will be announced as someone's wife. No. Not just someone. Zayn's wife. This whole month was the month of endless smiles.
Zayn did everything─took me on multiple date after our first one, surprises me with variety of flowers with a small love note on it every day, that makes me feel loved, he would wake me up with ' Good morning, sweetheart, ' text, and he did everything that I loved.
Never once, not even once he forgets to tell me how much he loves me, every day. Not even by mistake. He likes to remind me that I am going to be his and how he can't wait anymore.
He respects me, makes me feel like I am the most important person in his life. But even after all the things he did for me, I don't know why I still can't see him the way he wants me to see him.
To be honest, I still need time. These seven months still are not enough for me to forget everything. My love for him wasn't weak. No. What am I doing? I shouldn't be thinking about it. At least not now.
Shrugging off the thoughts, I focused on the view before me. I am seeing my reflection on the mirror in front of me. The lehenga was a deep maroon, rich and elegant, with gold embroidery covering the entire outfit. The skirt was long and flowing, decorated with floral and paisley designs, that made it look even more grand.
It fitted perfectly on my body. The make up is just on point as the accessories make it more beautiful. Never in my life have I thought I would marry a man that's not Rayan.
Oh, stop it, Amyra! Don't think about him right now! Focus!
"Wow! Is this my sister and not some monkey who used to trouble me a lot?" My brother's voice snapped me out of my stupid thoughts. "Bhai! Stop it before I kill you," I warned him, slapping hos shoes playfully.
