The silence in Zayn's cabin was razor sharp. Since he arrived at the office, no one said a word as everyone was well aware of his temper.

The shipment disappeared just like that. One moment, it was on its way, the next, it was gone. No trace, no sign, nothing.

No one knew where it was. And whoever took it—left nothing behind. Not a whisper. Not a footprint. Just silence.

"How? How is that even possible?!" Zayn roared, and with one brutal swing, he slammed his fist onto the desk making the glass top shattered completely.

"I asked a simple question!" he thundered again, eyes blazing as they swept across the room full of his most trusted men—each one suddenly doubting how much that trust still stood.

It was Mihir who finally dared to speak. "We checked every route. The cameras were wiped clean. No feeds. It’s like the shipment just vanished into the thin air."

"Things don’t just disappear, Mihir. Someone made it vanish." His voice came out dangerously low.

"They had left one thing behind, boss,"  Mihir said, and took out a small folded piece of paper from the inside of his blazer pocket.

He stepped forward and placed it onto the shattered desk in front of Zayn. The paper was half burned, its corners were brittle with ash and at the center was a single letter drawn with thick black ink.

Z.

"Z, " he muttered, picking up the paper between two fingers like it was laced with poison. Zayn looked at Mihir for further explanation and Mihir voiced, “No note, no message. Just this."

Zayn’s jaw clenched. His grip tightened on the paper. “Find out who had the nerves to mess up with me. I want names. And I want them on their knees. Understood?” His voice was dangerously low.

"Yes, boss." Mihir answered and walked out with the rest of his men but Zayn remained in his place. His eyes locked on the single letter on the paper.

Whoever left it knew exactly what they were doing. And now, they had his full attention.

And now, they had his full attention
