Oh god! Why do I always have to embarrass myself in front of him? I smiled at him innocently, as if I was actually one.

"What was the part, sweetheart?" he asked, arms crossed, leaning casually against the bathroom doorframe. That smirk was still playing on his lips — the one that made my brain stop functioning every single time.

"Um… it's just that the couple reunited," I said, stupidly. Seriously, Amyra?

He raised a brow. "Reunited?" His voice dropped slightly. "What kind of reunion makes you pull a blanket over your face and blush like that, sweetheart?"

"Nothing...they met after so long. So, I was a bit excited. That's it," I said, trying so hard not to stammer. He came closer, still on his towel wrapped around his waist.

I sat straightened myself on the bed. "Did they kiss?" He asked and I froze. "W-what?" I stuttered, my voice came out barely as a whisper. He was already right before me and I had to look up at him.

"Did. They. Kissed?" He asked again a bit more firmly than before, leaning slightly closer to me.

God. I wish I could just melt into the mattress and disappear. "Uh...maybe..." I said, looking everywhere but him. "Is that the reason why your face was like a tomato?" He chuckled.

"No. I wasn't," I defended myself. "Really? But at least you will be around me," He said and I swallowed. "No it's not like that," I said, softly.

"Oh really? So now, should I be jealous of a book which can make my wife go red and not me?" He whispered. "It's not like that..." My voice faltered.

"No?" He tilted his head slightly. "So if I kiss you now, would your reaction be the same?" He asked, just standing at the edge of the bed. He didn't close the distance.

The question lingered between us a bit longer. "Zayn...," I murmured. He grinned and straightened himself. "Don't worry, sweetheart. I was just teasing you. I am sorry," He said, smiling.

I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding, my body relaxing just a little.

“I just love seeing your reactions,”  He said, eyes still on me. I gave him a playful glare and said “You enjoy torturing me, don’t you?”

He grinned. “Not torture, sweetheart, but teasing. That too only when you look this cute doing it.”

Ugh. Zayn and that smile. That devastating smile.

I rolled my eyes and tried to get off the bed, tucking my hair behind my ear. “Anyway, I should—”

But the blanket had tangled around my ankle without me noticing, and the second I stood up—
My foot slipped.
