Starting over

Ava

"Ava? Sweetly, wake up." I hear a man say as he shakes me awake.

I look up and see the doctor from before along with a lady. I slightly smile but I figure that lady is someone I don't remember?

"So Ava we have some good news and bad news." The doctor explains. "The good news is your memory isn't permanently gone it will come back eventually. It could be triggered by certain events or people. The bad news is, it could take years for that to happen and it's gonna be really hard to just jump back into things." He says.

"Um okay. I'll try my best" I say forcing a smile.

"That's good, now I don't want you to get frustrated about anything and just let it run its course. We're gonna have monthly check ups with me so we can track your progress."

"Thank you doctor"

"No problem Ava. Now here's some clothes to get changed, you can leave today since you're all under control. I'll send in the people waiting to see you." He says before he walks out.

Now I'm left alone with this lady and I have no idea who she is.

"So I guess you don't remember me Ava, but I'm your mom." She finally speaks.

I try my best to remember but I can't. Then a man comes in and hugs her, who is he?

"This is Andrew, your step-dad. Me and your dad got divorced a while back, I guess you don't remember?" She continues.

"WHAT LIES ARE YOU TELLING HER!" A man screams as he barges into the room. "Ava, I'm your father, and you're coming home with me. I'll explain everything in the car." He speaks now sweetly.

I nod my head and grab his hand. He takes me out to the car and I sit quietly.

"Ava, I was in the car with you when it crashed. I just got let out of the hospital myself when I came to find you. This is gonna be a lot to take on so fast but I will help you through it. I want to tell you about me and your mom and then you can decide where you want to live." He says. I nod my head in understandmeant.

"So you have been living with your mom and Andrew for your whole life. They told you that he was your dad an you believed them, you had no reason to think other wise. Then I found out that your mom was keeping my child away from me and I didn't even know you existed. I filled a law suit for custody and then she was forced to tell you. Ever since then, you have been hiding from your mom and living in different places like your best friends house, or my house and that boys that your always hanging with house. I guess I got a little freaked out when she was starting to tell about the divorce because we were never married and she was taking advantage for your situation." He speaks softly.

"Thank you for telling me dad. I don't remember any of this but I appreciate you telling me the truth. I want to stay with you." I say smiling.

"Good to know sweet heart. I'm sure you might start remember small things shortly, but if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here."

"Thanks dad." I say hugging him.

Then we drive off to I'm guessing my home for now. I have my phone in my hand but I don't know what to do with it. I can't remember my passcode or who any of the people texting me are. Until I get a text from a familiar person, my mother.

Sorry it's such bad timing but Andrew and I are moving to Arizona. We will be back for the trial. Love you, bye
