Start Over...?
Ava
Its been one week since that Hayes kid stormed out of my room. I haven't seen him since, I actually haven't seen anyone but my dad. About 5 days ago I had some sort of a relapse and collapsed on my room floor. They rushed me to the ER and I've been here ever since. I am finally being cleared today, hopefully for good. I still don't get to go to school for a little while considering I cant remember much. The doctor said that my memory might come back in stages but some could be lost forever.
"ready to go baby girl?" my dad asks as he walks into my room.
"uh yeah. Just let me change quick." I say as I grab the clothes he brought me and go behind the curtain.
I change into a tee-shirt and sweatpants and then go back to the main part of my hospital room and find my dad.
"okay now im ready." I say laughing.
"Let us roll!" he says in a silly voice. I burst out laughing and grab the last of my stuff.
I look back in my hospital room and just think about what happened in here. This room is practically the only thing I can remember in my life. I do out of my trance, turn off the light, shut the door and follow my dad out to the car in the real world.
He drives home on the unfamiliar roads until we arrive at the house I briefly remember from the first time I got home since the accident. I head inside and when I open the door I see Rachel standing there with a banner that says "welcome home, take two!" and she has a cake in her hand.
She sets the cake down and I run up and hug her. I saw Rachel the day before I got readmitted to the hospital. We forgot about the fight because, well I didn't remember it.
"I missed you Rachel." I say as I start to eat the cake. We both laugh and dive in. After we are finished Rachel announced she wants to take me places around town that I used to love to go. I agree but first go upstairs to change. I change into a plain white tee and some leggings. I throw on my white converse and pull my hair into a high ponytail. I run back downstairs and we head out the door.
"okay so first we are going to go to my house so I can introduce you to my mom again and tell some stories." she explains.
I do and follow her across the street to her house. Well that's convenient. We enter and I see an older version of Rachel. It kinda weird how much they look alike.
"hi, im Rachel's mom. I guess you don't remember meeting me do you?" the lady speaks.
"no. I don't. Sorry." I reply shaking her hand.
"its okay sweetheart it's not your fault."
Rachel and I head upstairs and enter her room. I look around but nothing seems to ring a bell.
"okay so Ava, here's your story for this destination. You were going through a tough time with your family because you had just found out that Andrew was not your real dad. You came here in tears and slept at my house for a couple days. Your sleeping bag was over there." she said as she pointed to the right. "You refused to go home and you would use all my clothes and this was like your home. Then we were sitting in here one night and you got a text from your mom with your real dad's number. You were scared but proceeded to text him. He responded and then you met your dad a couple days later." she finished. "anything?" she asks.
"not yet, lets keep trying." I say hopeful.
Our next stop was over to the school. We walk inside and im immediately lost. We walk to the back and enter the pool room.
"do you remember being a swimmer?" she asks me.
"not really" I say disappointed.
"well you were a damn good one. Your relay which was you, Haylee, me and Alexa. We had the best relay and they last time we competed we won first place. Hayes was here to see it all and after we won he was the first one you went to. You guys had something but now not so much I guess." she says awkwardly laughing.
We walk over to the record board and see that was hold the medly relay record for the pool and I told the 50 back record. I still don't remember anything.
"what about now?" she asks.
"nope." I say sighing.
"its okay, lets head home because its 8 anyways and we can try again another time." she says with a reassuring smile.
We take the whole back home and she says goodbye and heads across the street to her house. I enter my house and crash into bed. Today took a lot of of me since im not fully recovered. I got all ready for bed and drift off to sleep.
*dream*
"EVERYTHING'S BEEN A LIE, I HATE YOU", I SCREAM AT MY MOM AND ANDREW. Then all the sudden I am at the pool and see Alexa swimming freestyle towards us. She hits the wall and we all scream and cheer, we just won. I run over and jump into Hayes arms, he spins me around, I feel special.
*end*
I jump up confused and lost until I realize, I remembered something from my life before the accident, Rachel's technique worked. I grab my phone and text Rachel,
It worked, I remember my mom telling me Andrew wasn't my dad and I remember us winning the relay.
I smile to myself and then drift off to Sleep.
I wake up to my dad leaving for work.
"BYE AVA!" He yells up the stairs. "ILL SEE YOU WHEN I GET HOME!"
I get out of bed and check my phone.
1 text message from Rachel😍🏊🏼
OH MY GOD AVA THATS GREAT! Be ready by 12, I have a surprise.
I look at the clock and its 11 so I quick hop up and get ready. I put on a tribal pattern flowy tank top with some white jeans and my black vans. I quickly touch up my hair so its perfectly straight. I apply foundation and light mascara. I grab my phone and check the time 11:50. I head downstairs and quickly eat a cereal bar in case we don't eat right away.
The door bell rings and I run to the door. I open it and see a handsome boy standing in front of my.
"hi, my name is Lucas."
