Chapter 4:
Xaviera's POV:
It's the weekend and thank god it flew by quickly because every day of this week, Hayden has been dropping me and my siblings to school and I find it so awkward since I haven't told him about my decision on the abortion yet. Next weekend is my date with Lane and I'm so excited. I look over at my window and then back to the test in my hand from earlier this week. I keep looking at this test to try and make me change my mind about telling him and so far, it's working. I need to tell him though, I can't change my mind, I need to do this to get the life I need. I can have a baby in the future when I'm ready emotionally and financially and when I've found the right guy to be with forever. Right now, I've none of those things.
"Sorry, baby," I whisper, trying to hold my tears in, "It's all my fault but I'm very sorry." I lay my hand on my flat belly and give it a slow rub. It probably can't even feel that but I just hope I can forgive myself one day for this. I take my hand away and start to stand up. As soon as I get up, I hear footsteps come near to my room.
"Zavy, do you know where Mum an-" Andrew walks into my room and stops walking and talking, when he notices the pregnancy test in my hand. He gasps and stares at it with shock. "Xaviera..."
"This isn't mine, Andy," I lie, trying to remain calm, so he believes me. "I was cleaning out all the bins from our bathrooms today and I found this in Mum and Dad's en suite."
"Aw no, not again! I thought they'd stop with Seth! This is going to be so embarrassing; everyone else's parents have finished having kids. They're almost in their late 40's, Mum shouldn't be so fertile!" he whines.
"I know, I'm shocked too but at least Seth will have someone nearer to his age to play with. Don't tell them we know though, leave it for them to tell us," I command.
"I won't tell them. Should we tell Ofelia?" he asks and I shake my head quickly in reply.
"No, leave it until they tell us, it's better that way and try act surprised when they tell us," I order.
"They better not make me babysit or I'll be so mad," he mumbles and I chuckle.
"Don't worry; I'm sure they'll rarely make you babysit."
"They better not. Anyway, tell Mum and Dad I'll be back around 8 when they're home. See you, Zavy!" he says, walking out of my room and down the stairs.
"Bye, Andy!" I shout, so he can hear me. I hide the test in my drawer and sigh with relief that he didn't find out. I'll fix that problem when the time comes. Now it's time to tell Hayden. Was Andrew interrupting me a sign that I shouldn't have an abortion? No, there's no such things as signs, you silly girl, now tell him! I open my window and look through his to see if he's there. I see him sitting on his bed, talking on the phone. He catches me looking at him, just as I'm retreating back to my bedroom and closing my window. He turns his phone off and goes to open his window.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Hayden questions.
"Yeah, it's fine, finish your phone call and we'll talk later," I inform, about to close my window. He stops me and waves me in to his bedroom.
"No, it's okay, this is more important, I'll call them back later. Come in and tell me what's up," he urges. I smile and go through mine and his window and into his room. He sits on his bed and taps for me to sit beside him. I sit beside him and feel a sense of déjà vu.
"This is just like earlier this week when you told me you were pregnant," he chortles and I laugh too. "So, what is it? Is there something wrong with the baby?" he worries, glancing down at my belly.
