Chapter 12:
Xaviera's POV:
I spent a week in hospital just to make sure that everything's okay. Luckily, I'm now allowed to go home since everything seems to be okay with me and the baby. I'm now 17 weeks pregnant, 17 years old and 17 weeks pregnant. At least I'm 18 in two months, so I'll technically be an adult when the baby's here. My parents and Ofelia came to collect me at the hospital. Andrew and Hayden's parents wanted to come too but there was no point in bringing two cars to collect me when I'm just going to see them back at home. Hayden slept everyday beside me, so he had to be collected too. We finally arrive home and park outside my house. Hayden opens the car door for me and helps me out carefully.
"You're such a gentleman, Hayden, she's lucky to have you," my mum compliments, giving him a bright and genuine smile. I don't know if our parents think we're dating or not. I feel like they think we are but we aren't, yet. Should I mention that to them or should I wait until they ask? Maybe the reason they haven't asked me yet is because every time they visited me in hospital, Hayden was always beside me, so it would be kind of awkward to ask.
"Thank you, Debra, but I'm actually the lucky one," he disagrees, grinning at me. I blush involuntarily and Ofelia giggles at me. Ofelia, shut the fuck up before he gets suspicious! As we start to walk into my house, he takes my hand and I immediately stare down at it. Okay, he must like me and if he doesn't, then he shouldn't be giving me all these signs because he's just leading me on. I just give him a quick smile and then continue to look in front of me. We enter my house and I'm greeted by a loud "welcome home" cheer from Hayden's parents, Andrew and Seth.
"Aw, thank you, everyone, this is so sweet!" I gasp, taking in the decorated room of 'Welcome Home' signs and cupcakes and cake to be eaten. I can't wait to get them in my mouth, they look delicious.
"ZAVYYYY!" Seth squeals, running up to me and hugging my legs tightly. He hasn't seen me since I said goodbye to him before sleeping at Hayden's. He wanted to come to the hospital and see me but Mum and Dad didn't think he should go.
"I've missed you so much, Sethy," I rejoice, bending over to pull him into a bear hug.
"I wanted to come and see you but Mummy and Daddy wouldn't let me," he says softly, starting to get teary eyed.
"Aw, don't get upset. I'm here now, no need to be sad. How about you and I play together later to make up for all the time I missed?" I propose.
"Yay!" he screams with delight. I lift him up and squeeze him tightly, rocking him from side to side.
"Zavy, be careful, you only came out of hospital today," Hayden worries, glancing down at my belly and rubbing my back.
"He's right, Xaviera, he might be too heavy for you to lift up now, especially on your back and with him leaning on your..." my Dad comments, nodding at my belly. I reluctantly put him down and he frowns. Why can't he say belly?
"Don't mind them, they're just silly worriers," I tell him. He notices my belly for the first time and his eyes become wide with excitement.
"Are you having a baby?!" he asks quickly with surprise, placing both his hands on top of my bump, as I glance at my parents with shock. Did no one tell him yet?! I mean, I can't blame Seth for guessing that I am because I'm not hiding it anymore and it's quite obvious, it's just that I assumed that someone told him when I was gone. That explains why Dad didn't say belly.
"Seth, sweetie, can you go to your room and play for a while as the adults talk?" Mum orders.
"I wish I was an adult," he pouts. "Okay, Mummy." He removes his hands from my belly and runs off to his bedroom. He was so cute with his hands on my belly.
