Chapter 8:

Xaviera's POV:

I go to my sister's bedroom and find her on the phone to someone. She hangs up straight away when she sees my expression and pulls me into a hug.

"What's wrong, sweetie?" she asks with worry.

"The baby moved," I smile and she squeals. My smile quickly fades as I remember the earlier events of today. "Calla knows and she's not my friend anymore."

"How did she find out?" she questions with shock.

"The baby moved and I was looking at my belly and touching it and I heard a girl's voice behind me, so I immediately thought it was you. Then she saw it and she got mad and now she wants nothing to do with me because I didn't confide in her."

"I'll talk to her," Ofelia offers, getting out her phone. I take her phone off her and put it back on her bed.

"It's okay," I tell her.

"She'll come around, Zavy, Calla loves you and you're her best friend. She's going to be talking to you tomorrow, don't worry," she assures, rubbing my arms.

"I know, I just hope she forgives me quick. I'm telling Mum and Dad now," I confide.

"Finally! I'll come with you; don't worry about it at all, okay? They took it great when they thought it was me." I nod and we go downstairs. My parents and brother look at us with confusion for just standing there in the room.

"Is something the matter?" Mum worries.

"I've something to tell you," I inform.

"Not you too, Xaviera, please tell me you're not pregnant too," Mum gasps. Andrew knows that Ofelia's only lying for my sake, he thought that Ofelia got pregnant too when he heard it from Mum at first until we explained though.

"Mum, Dad, so do I," Ofelia declares, getting everyone's attention, "I'm not pregnant."

"Why would you lie to us like that?" Dad demands to know.

"She was protecting me," I confess softly.

"No, that can't be true," Mum disagrees.

"It is, Mum," I cry. Ofelia pulls me into a hug and Andrew makes it a group hug.

"Do you realise how stupid you are, Xaviera? I expected so much better from you. I'm so disappointed in you. You've always been good, why have you suddenly changed? You were going to get a scholarship, now how are you to go to college? You were going to go far in life, you've ruined your chance now," Mum shouts. What the actual fuck?! When Ofelia told them, they didn't even care! Why is it different with me?! They're not supportive of me but they are for Ofelia?

"Are you trying to say you expected it from me?!" Ofelia retorts.

"We didn't expect it to happen, it would just be more logical for it to be you if one of our children became a teen parent," Dad explains.

"Wow, you guys are so nice," Ofelia mutters sarcastically.

"You party all the time, Ofelia, Zavy has only been to one and she's shyer, you can't help us thinking that. It looks like she's not as timid as we thought," Mum notes angrily.

"It was an accident, I was drunk," I weep.

"Drunk! What have we taught you, Zavy? We brought you up so much better than this. How far along are you?" Dad enquires.

"16 weeks," I sniffle.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?! Xaviera, you kept this so late!" Mum barks.
