Sqampy : The True Story

I had recently got a job at the local Tesco. The plan was to work there until I managed to make a YouTube career. I had only made a few videos in Minecraft and they weren't very good. I had tried making them before in a world called Quacktopia but it had corrupted and everything was lost. To be honest, I lost heart and stopped for a while. Then I created Feather Adventures and I loved it so much more!

I started up my car. It looked like it was going to rain, so I wouldn't chance walking to work. I arrived in five minutes and walked inside the illuminated building. I headed to the cashiers where I would be working. A kind lady showed my how to work them before opening my till. I immediantly had a long line of people.

It was more difficult than I thought it would be... When serving my first two customers, I could hardly work the scanner. They both gave me impatient, angry looks. I was very embarrassed, my cheeks flushed as the next customer appeared. He had curly brown hair and emerald green eyes. He smiled at me. My heart fluttered.

'No, Beth!' I thought to myself. 'You have an amazing boyfriend who loves you very much. You can't like a random stranger!'

I served him quickly. By some miracle, I didn't mess up with the scanner. Thank the ducks of the world!

Eventually, I finished my shift and headed home, at 2am, exhausted.  I gave my beautiful hamster, Sparky, a treat and fell asleep.

I woke up at 9am, made a cup of tea and ate breakfast. Afterwards, I fed and cleaned Sparky. Halfway through scrubbing his cage I got a phone call. It was Jake.

"Hi, Jake!" I said happily.

"Hey sweetie. How's your new place?"

"It's great! There was a leak but it's all fixed now. What's up?"

"That's good. I just wanted to ask if I could come over in a couple of weeks."

"Yeah! That sounds amazing! What day?"

"A week on Friday?"

"Yeah, that sounds good."

"Great, well I'll see you then."

"Okay."

"Bye, sweetie."

"Bye, Jake."

He ended the call. I was glad he was coming over but usually he ends his phone calls with "I love you". I know I shouldn't feel worried but I do. Maybe he's just under pressure at work. Yeah. That's what it is! He'll call later for a proper chat.

I fell asleep by the phone, waiting for him to call.
